Pours a dark chestnut brown color with mahogany/plum edges and a half finger beige head that immediately fades into a very thin ring. Minimal spotty lacing left behind. Boozy, chalky aroma that smells slightly oxidized with vinous red wine, dry oak and roasted dark malt. Port like notes with vinous grape, raisin and fig along with subtle roast and sweet, leathery malt underneath. Medium bodied with tight carbonation and slight oxidization. Some vinous dark fruit and dry toasted oak/toothpick with strong vinous raisin, grape and other dark fruits. Slightly off with weird oxidization going on. Works for now but it’s a flaw that won’t age well. I’m not sure if we got a bad bottle but this already tastes close to a decade old.

Rating #1226 08.08.2014 Bottle from CBI. Nut brown pour, bubbly head, not much lacing. Aroma is sweet sweet port, alcohol, pastry dough Taste is an alcoholic blast, lots of hoppy bitterness tempered with a ton of port sweetness on the palate. Just a big bold beer for flavour-lovers. Awesome.

Pours dark brown with no head and lots of floaters. The aroma is very sweet with dark fruit and syrup or molasses. The flavor is the same with roast malt and the port. Nicely balanced and a full body feel. Big burn in on the throat. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Muito forte e tambem muito saborosa. Baixo amargor e predominância do doce. Se tivesse maior drinkability, seria perfeita.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that lasted with very good lacing. Moderate to heavy dark fruit, earthy wood aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy dark sweet flavor with a moderate to heavy dark sweet finish of medium to long duration. Another standout brew.

11.2 oz bottle shared with Tmoney99. Pours a clear brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have dark caramel malts, dark fruits, wood, a hint of smoke, the port barrel works a little bit better with this than the wine barrel in my opinion, some sweetness that works with this beer, smoke is actually very mild. This is solid and tasty. Thanks to b3shine for the opportunity to try this beer.
