olio (7020) - Tampere, FINLAND - OCT 12, 2013
33 cl bottle.
Pours deep dark mahogany color with a small head. Aroma of ripe fruits, sweet caramel malts, some toffee and chocolate notes with wood, faint vanilla and some vinous hints. Reminds me a bit of Dumle Liquorice, that’s a first and definitely not a bad thing.
Flavor is also a bit sweet with ripe fruits and caramel, some malts, lightly salty licorice and dark berries, wood, faint tar and syrup also. Very oily texture, soft carbonation, full bodied. Lingering smooth caramelly aftertaste. Very well balanced and tasty, alcohol is also well hidden. Simply excellent.

reebtogi (4561) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 7, 2013
330ml bottle pours a dark brownish amber color with a finger of off-white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is smoky with some dark fruits. Taste is a fruity and grainy malt sweetness with a herbal bitterness and a smoky finish. Medium to heavy body with mild carbonation. Interesting brew which has a nice balance in both body and flavor. Recommended as this is quite a unique barley wine.
