11.2oz bottle in a teku. Pours hazy brown with a small, beige head. Aroma of caramel and toffee and some light chocolate malts, some barrels and port wine, notes of dark fruits, some light bitterness, and light dough. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Smooth texture. A solid barley wine.

2014-11-20. Very dark brown body is nearly black with a tiny, fast fading brown head. 3+ Aroma is rich, moderately alcoholic, dark malt, leathery, sweet port like wine character. 7++ Flavour is similarly rich, sweet dark malt core, plums and dried dark fruit, prunes, sweet rich yet delicate port character. Surprisingly moderate alcohol character considering the strength. Smooth medium to full bodied palate is uncarbonated. Rich, and quite tasty but just a touch heavy for me today. I suspect I might add a point or two in a different mood. Bottle via trade with Duffman

Jaksmart (447) - Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 2, 2014
Bottle. Almost black with a red hue, thin film of tan head. Aroma of dark dried fruits, molasses, thick raisins, malt, black pepper, rich spicy oak, a blurry vanilla substance. Taste is rich but not boozy, with tons of oaky sweetness, sticky burnt caramel, coffee, toasted malts, and raisiny dried fruits. Very delicious and warming. Not very long duration, but otherwise a nice palate.

Lukasmh (227) - Aarhus, DENMARK - NOV 2, 2014
Bottle. Pours viscous thick dark brown with small but nice brown head, some lacing. Aroma is rich. Packed with raisins, dates, figs, prunes - dark and sweet. Some coffee and toast. Burnt molasses. Sweet grapes and really characteristic moscatel. Taste is equally rich. All the dried fruits among the sweet grapes. Got the moscatel acid. Toasty malts and bit sugary. Does fate out in a dry way. Reminds me a lot of the real deal!

Bottle thanks to lukasmh. Pours dark, almost Black, brown with a Nice, fluffy, tan head. Aroma has dark berries, burned sugar, slight roast, coffee, raisins and a slight booze. Taste has more of a molasses-sweetness, and lots of prunes, raisins, coffee, gun powder, a bitter, dry, and slight acidic finish. Lots of flavor! Thick body and low carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Crooked Stave Reserve Society meeting. Pours a cloudy orangish brown appearance with a thin brown. The aroma shows some oxidation along with bread, light citrus, caramel, and toffee. Moderately high sweetness and booze. Moderate bitterness. Medium full body. A touch nutty with some caramel, light chocolate, and burnt sugar. Ok.

Bottle. This is a sweet syrup of beer with lots of burnt caramel, toasted coconut, and dulce de leche. Good but not awesome.
