Small brown bubbly mediumlasting head. (At the festival: no head, looks very cloudy) Aroma is rich and sweet, dark malts, toffee, salty caramel, dark sugar, vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, raisins, licorice, tangerine. Taste is sweet and slightly concentrated, dark malts, salty caramel, raisins, dark sugar, cocoa, oak, licorice, vanilla. Medium bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Damn this was good shit! A nice barleywine, madeira, licorice and bourbon barrel aging perfect mixed in one beer!? How can it get much better than that!?

Pours very dark mahogany with a small wispy yellow head. The aroma is filled with raisins, crem brûlée, chocolate, caramel, apricot, and cedar. The mouthfeel is decadent but somehow light. Super well balanced. On the palate it is sweet and rich. Yum. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark mahogany with scant, beige head, no lacing (BA) / Rich, deep, sweet nose of sherry, dark fruit, chocolate, caramel / Full body, smooth, modestly chewy, sweet but with excellent balance, just a hint of bitterness, light heat / Flavors of date, fig, chocolate, caramel, light sherry barrel / Nicely restrained, not a monster, with good complexity.

small frothy offwhite head. fair lacing. fully diminishing. flat thick dark reddish-brown body. aroma: raisin, cherry, wood, ruby port, alcohol. if: heavy sweet light bitter. ff: heavy sweet moderate bitter; long duration. palate: medium full body, creamy texture, medium carbonation, metallic moderate alcoholic finish.
