330 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with light head. Aromas of brown sugar, malt extract, and dark fruit. Flavors are rich and same with an additional Christmas cake spiciness. I’ll take the front room over the back.

Rich sherry, rum, fruity, sweet not heavy, like a Pedro ximinez. Lightly hazy pale amber, little by way of head. Perfect beer for cheese. Excellent

Bottle shared with RB crew. Pours a thick murky brownish black body with no head. Aroma is sweet caramel malt, dark fruits, raisins, chocolate and wood. Mouthfeel is medium to full with rich notes of molasses, maple, chocolate, oak, sweet malt, vanilla and dark fruit. I thought this was a wonderful barley wine.

Bottle. Very dark amber, brickish highlights, low golden head. Sweet malty aroma, burnt sugars abound, dark fruits. Sticky, sweet, richly malty palate with flavours of molasses, brown sugar, dates, toast. Lip smackingly sweet sipper with enormous depth of flavour. Loved it.

dfearnley (1612) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 8, 2014
Bottle to tulip Port, Grand Marnier, brandy, soy, toffee, a hint of chocolate, coffee, and currants. Silky and slick black, practically no head. The taste is like I’m sucking on the cheesecloth that has just been pulled off a fruitcake. There’s a little chocolate there, but the rest is rum and dark fruits.
