3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Final dulce y prolongado. Fruta madura y caramelizada en el retrogusto.
Big beer but for those who well know Malaga Wine, it´s not as big as it seems to be. Since Barrel aged has made major part of this good job.
330ml bottle. Wine glass. Very dark brown color, dark amber tints to the light. Beige froth, brief crown. Aromas of raisin, toasted caramel malts, candies, ripe plums & dats, as well as matured wood on the back. Sweet toasted malt, Malaga Wine, intense raisin, sugar flavors & hints of molasses. Full body. Soft carbonation. Oily texture & silky palate. Low herbal bitterness in the middle is overwhelmed by intense Malaga flavor rounded by underlying licorice candy notes. No-cloying sugary flavor made from raisins, herbs & spices. ABV is well hidden & shown as a kind warming feel. Slight harsh astringency. Long sweet finish. Ripe & caramelized fruits on the aftertaste.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Cola brown, thin sickly bubble ring clings to the glass. Toasted marshmallows, very sweet, soya sauce shining through, and the aroma rounds off with the smell of the Safeway frozen juice freezer. Taste is mild for what this is, but still its a punch to the face. Prunes, soya, burnt sugar, almost but not a red wine. Sweetness builds but stays in control. Beer gets better and better the longer it sits. I drank this beer that is all.

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma has notes of caramel, alcohol, and over ripe fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of caramel, alcohol, over ripe fruits, and grapes, leading to a dry woody and alcoholic finish.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Sour & Bitter #2, pours a deep dark amber with a tiny beige / tan head. Aroma of deep dark fruits, subdued red wine barrels, caramel, and a bit of residual sugar. Flavour of perfume, red wine barrels, caramel, and some residual sugars. There is a bit of sweetness, but also a pronounced dryness. The barrels are used quite well, offering a dry vinous quality to it. Not the most complex or elegant, but enjoyable for what it is. Solid stuff.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
8 oz draft at Tørst, poured in a White wine glass. The pour is a deep brown, almost black with a think one inch khaki head that was firm and lasting. The aroma is big sweet malt, roast, almost char, and a decent amount of alcohol booziness. The taste is big on the sweetness, which shows as more of a chocolate caramel in the taste, though the more traditional malt sweetness is present as well. I also pick a wood - grain type flavor which is a bit hard to describe. The big booze is present, particularly in the lingering finish. The palate is medium to heavy bodied, though the mouth feel has some slickness which lightens the finish considerably. Low carbonation rate, and of course the sweet alcohol heat. I am not a huge fan of big, boozy sweet beers, and this was certainly one of them.
