COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: made for "The Trappist" in Oakland, CA.
The 8% ABV on the label is a misprint.

Bottle shared at the Euston Tap, London, during the unbelievably drunken night that was Nick’s send-off. Pours red-brown with a foamy, beige head. Dust cocoa nose with mild roast. Medium sweet finish, moderately roasty with light, dark toasty bread and dark baking cocoa. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice and chocolatey bread finish, with decent roasted malts. Very enjoyable. Mild mocha linger. Great balance, with some kind of lightly roasty bitter earth character, too. Good one overall.

Bottle at Eulogy. Poured black with a fizzy brown head. Cold, it tastes like a dark coffee porter. Big hops hiding somewhere in the darkness. Bit fuller dark malt flavor as it warms, but coffee and hops continue to dominate/overwhelm other flavors.

Deceptively nice, dark and smooth extremely drinkable but still holding onto a big flavour ... but ridiculously expensive

500ml bottle from Bierkompass

BBE 2015 - Pours dark brown, almost black with a large foamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, espresso coffee, chocolate, hints of fruits and citrus. Taste is roasty and slightly sweet with notes of chocolate, coffee and ripe fruits. Finish is quite smooth, only slightly roasty and bitter with grassy hops. Okay, quite tasty brown ale.
