COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s note: made for "The Trappist" in Oakland, CA.
The 8% ABV on the label is a misprint.

Wood, brown sugar, dates, and maple syrup nose, with fudge hints. Brown, medium yellow head, good lacing. Very woody cedar and date flavor. Smoky fudge finish. Joyfully quaffable. Medium body. Rare combination of intensity, complexity and drinkability. Exceptional.

33cl bottle @ tasting with Joes and Dutchdrebus. Courtesy of Dutchdrebus. Fantastic deep dark red glow coming through a dark brown, almost black beer with a decent sized light brown head. Smell hops, lightly fruity. Taste hops, fruits, roasty-bitterness. Medium body, medium carbo. Lovely beer!

UPDATED: MAR 8, 2012 Tap, Beer Festival 2011, Cph: Cloudy, murky brown with a nice beige head. Smells like smooth coffee, roasted malts, grass, resin and grapefruit. The taste is well balanced and semi-sweet with notes of mandarin, peach, grapefruit and soft coffee. Medium body, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. A really delicious beer!

On tap at the trappist. Smells like breakfast. Bacon maple syrup and pancakes. Tastes like beer. Paired nicely with pickled green tomatoes and habanero jerky. Grass fed of course.

Bottle shared at the Euston Tap, London, during the unbelievably drunken night that was Nick’s send-off. Pours red-brown with a foamy, beige head. Dust cocoa nose with mild roast. Medium sweet finish, moderately roasty with light, dark toasty bread and dark baking cocoa. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Nice and chocolatey bread finish, with decent roasted malts. Very enjoyable. Mild mocha linger. Great balance, with some kind of lightly roasty bitter earth character, too. Good one overall.

Fad: Brun uklar øl med et fint skumhoved. Duft af amarillo. Meget klar bitter ikke så klar brown. Mangler lidt karamel for at være klassisk brown, tilgengæld er der en dejlig grøn urt, grøn mynthe i smagen.

Half a liter bottle that pours a muddy brown topped with a very fine cappochino coloured head. When uncapped it blasts nice hoppy notes away - a dream to create expectations. In the glass the nose still has the hoppy profile, but here you also gett some nice roastyness from coffee and some chocolatish sweetness. Finaly there is something that reminds me og corianter seeds. The taste is rather low key and not that explosive as the aroma. After a sec though it starts crowing and you really get the coffee notes from the espresso beans. Its bitter but at the same time mild with a sweet edge. The mouthfeel is medium with a creamy touch leading to a long dry finish with the bitterness from the espresso up front. Nice beer that does the job. Very drinkable without beeing too much

Bottle. Pours a hazy light brown with a nice beige head. Aromas of dark fruit, citrus and pine. Flavors of dark malts, dark fruits, grapefruit and pine. Nice balance between bitter and malty with nice citrus notes. A very good beer.
