3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Hermod (2192) - Vantaa, FINLAND - APR 14, 2012
Draught @ Viisi Penniä, Helsinki. Poured dark amber with a cramy, white lasting head. Aroma has similarity to some white vines, with light sourness and also quite fruity. Lovely aroma. Flavor was sweet fruity, lactose, caramel. Smooth long caramelly finish. Weird combination, but I liked this one a lot.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 sayravai (4654) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 12, 2012
(Draught) Hazy medium amber with a small head. Aroma of wild yeast, ripe fruit, and a touch of diacetyl. Flavor is peachy-ice-creamy-ripe-fruity, like most beers I’ve encountered with "lambic yeast" mix used, but there is no sourness/tartness, IMO. Medium to full body, soft CO2. Leaves sticky lips behind. Strangely, I didn’t really get the white grapes in this, but the "lambic yeast" dominates. Maybe it’s the stickiness. Ok, but not comparable with anything Belgian. 6136

Palate was medium bodied and quite dry with medium carbonation. Flavours were vineousness, sweetness, fruitiness, malts and low bitterness. Afteraste was vineous, sweet and bitter. Very different tripel but good for my taste.
