COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
You know story, a dull-looking guy - he is dry, maybe a tad overweight and let’s face it, not very charming. But somehow he hooks up with a piquant, profound, and very attractive girl. She finds him oh so down to earth, loyal and cute, and even though it’s such an odd paradox, they make a very interesting and charismatic couple.

Pours ruby-tinged mahogany into a snifter. Mocha head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Sour cherry aromas. Sweet caramel upfront turning to tart cranberry and cherry before the lasting pit fruit finish. Not sure why the ratings are so low on this one...I really like the "paradox" as they say in their description...

I have no idea where this bottle came from, possibly Belmont. Pours a ruby brown with a small tan ring around the edge. Big aroma of sour cherries that finishes with straight acetone, a little rough. It does make your mouth water. Flavor is definitely sour but a decent amount of dark, roasted malt makes it to the front too. Okay.

January 2012. Bottle. Pours dark red with a small white head. Cherries, spices, citrus with a sour finish. Not too thrilled about this one.

Dark red-amber, minimal off-white head / Mild nose of wood, light sourness, dark fruit, chocolate, funk / Light to medium body, creamy and mellow, moderately sweet and only lightly sour, excellent balance and dry, woody finish / Smooth flavors of milk chocolate, oak, dark cherry, date, smoke, and light horse blanket / Clearly a dissenter in this category, and probably more my taste being not overly sour, this is an elegant, well balance, and even complex sour.

Nice mild sour with very low carbonation. Not much in the way of aromas. Decent sour.

Cerveza oscura pero con poca espuma. Muy poco gas, ligera. Muy buena cerveza. Tipo gueze, pero podría beber litros.

Opaque dark brown beer. Suddy pale tan head. Dry crisp palate. Tart sourish fruit and worcester sauce. It’s very much in the Duchesse Du Bourgogne mould - perhaps a little less sour here. Dry crisp finish. All right.

Appearance is dark brown, almost black, with no foam. Aroma is very sour, almost burnt, malty and berry. Taste is also very sour, wine-like berriness, little twiggy and citrusy. Palate is medium with no carbonation. All in all, very strange sour ale, on the other hand it tastes good, on the other this is spoiled.

Bottle at Brewdog Shoreditch. Dark red/brown colour, with small gold bubbly head. Aroma is treacle, vinegar, dark fruit, pretty nice. Taste is pleasantly sour, more black treacle coming through. Some brown sugar. Slight bubbliness. Nice mix of sweet and sour. Long brown sugar finish. Pretty nice.

A - Dark brown with a bit of red mixed in and a thin finger of bubby off-white head. Fades quickly. S - Sour cherries, some other dark fruits, some light funk, sweet caramel malts, some vanilla, a bit of oak, some acidity. T - Sour cherries, dark fruit, vanilla, some funk, caramel malts, a bit of oak, some light funky yeast, some acidity. M - Medium bodied, mild carbonation. Smooth with a sour finish. D - A bit empty and rough. Needs a bit more depth and complexity for the style.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Amber brown brew with very little head. Nose of acetone, oak, chocolate - flavors of cherry and other pitted fruits, caramel malt, and an odd burnt linger.
