3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy copper pour with a 2 finger, creamy beige head that has great retention and leaves a little lacing. Aroma of blood orange- like citrus hops, floral, grassy, spicy and light tropical hops, toast, biscuit, light caramel and a little cat box and pine, more noticeable as it warms. Flavor is caramel, white bread crust, sweet fruity notes, the hops roll in with some nice, sweet citrus, resinous hops, light mango/tropical fruit, bitter sweet grass and a light, nutty, almond like note in the fairly bitter, grapefruit finish. Medium body with and amazingly creamy entry, all the way up to the creamy, but slightly dry finish. The dryness lingers and becomes pretty astringent after that. Carbonation is light, to moderate, with a somewhat sharp feel. Very good overall, though the finish is a bit bracingly bitter and a little medicinal after an otherwise fairly sweet IIPA drink.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very hazy brownish orange. Some spitty head, not much, light lace.
Nose has buiscuit, tea, orange,a bit of spice, slight sweet malt,marshmello.Mild.Two months from bottle day (all the way to Iowa in a hot summer)
Taste is grassy spicey, malty strong but not sweet, slickish smooth, lots of hop bite, strong bitter, grassy, strong grapefruit finish.Lots of grapefruit.Seems easy drinking til the finish and warming then all that piney grapefruit starts to uncover some alcohol. Good but far from being one of my favorate Imperial ipa’s. This beer seems victim of poor storage/shipping conditions though.

Cloudy brown haze. Not much hop aroma and taste. More of a carmel malt flavor. Slight alcohol burn. Just OK.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear amber orange color with a foamy yellowish head. Big orange marmalade and hop resin nose. There is lots of alcohol in this. Thick syrupy mouth feel. This tastes like concentrated hop resin and citrus peels. This is pretty hot and very tingly on the tongue. Maybe this would be better when mixed with Ying.

Big hoppy monster, huge bitter hop bite, braced on the palate with citrus sweetness, and a long bitter, aromatic finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours orange with a large amount of frothy white head. Aroma is heavy on the toasted malt and boozy sweet fruits. Medium body with sticky texture. An oily, bitter finish makes for an overall amazing beer. Could be a bit hoppier but i guess it isn’t from America :)

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, bottled March 2013. Pours a mostly clear amber color with a small frothy head that lingers nicely and leaves nice webbing. Love the appearance. Sweet and musty aroma. Nice mix of hops and malt, I’m guessing some hops may have faded off the last few months but it still smells great. Caramel, toffee, pine, grapefruit, oranges, wet grass, and herbal hops. Taste is very nice too. Moderately sweet malt of caramel, toffee, and bread. The hops are diverse, pine, flowers, citrus, grass. Medium to thick body. Mouthfeel is really nice, oily and a little chewy too. 10% abv is well hidden. Really like this beer. Intense malt and hops are blend together with thick body and mouthfeel. Probably a love it or hate it kinda DIPA.
