COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle from Beer Run. Pours a hazy orange with a medium frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of sticky floral, leafy, herbal hops, candied citrus and toffee malts. The taste is earthy, citrus and tropical hops with a toffee finish. Medium bodied.

0.33 l bottle, thanks Timo A! Reddish amber color. Sweet tropical fruity aroma with mango, lemon and honey melon. Bittersweet and nutty flavor with toffee, mango. Hard bitterness in finish with toffee and dark caramel. Toffeish-caramelly malt and high hoppiness are detracting here. Half way between IIPA and barley wine.

On tap @ Mikkeller bar. The aroma has some caramel malts, aprikots, oranges. Very hoppy. Hazy, dark brown coloured beer with a white, thin head. The taste is quite bitter, has hopjuicy sweetness, caramel malts, oranges, tropic fruits. Well bodied, powerfull.

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 2015
Aroma is rather typical to ipa with exotic fruits and syrupy-sweet sugar. Flavour is rather hoppy and sweet with exotic fruits. Some bready malt occurs at the end of the glass. Once again, too sweet dipa.

11.2oz bottle in a tulip. Pours deep amber with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma strong of citrusy and slightly grassy hops with a lot of caramel malts. Flavor about the same. Thicker texture. A good imperial IPA. As the black and tan with Evil Twin Yin, the roasted malts of Yin blend nicely with the caramel malts of the IPA, and Yang’s hoppiness balances the malts very well. A great combo. I would rank the black and tan higher than this beer individually.

LoFi (1551) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 5, 2011
UPDATED: JUL 18, 2012 Bottle. Darker amber with a tan head leaving lacing. Aroma: tropical fruits like pineapple, caramel. Taste: tropical, butterscotch, dried fruit, very malty, honey, pine, balanced bitterness. Quite full body, not very high carbonation. I was expecting this to have a higher hop punch, but it was still really nice.

Pours an orange-amber body with a bubbly white head that leaves decent lacing behind. It smeels a little citrusy but also pretty heavy on the caramel side. The taste is mildly bitter followed by a ton of sweetness. This is a very thick DIPA and the alcohol is noticeable. I perfer this beer more in the black and tan form. Overall something I wouldnt seek out again.

Bottle. Dark amber color. Grapefruit, melon and oily hops in the aroma. Oily hopbitter flavor, with loads of dried tropical fruit . Sweetish. Alcohol, tobacco and cedar. Long aftertaste, but deceptively drinkable.

Gedronken met dutchdrebus, pik zwart met een bruine schuimkraag. Lijkt wel olie. Ruikt naar ipa en koffie. Totaal nie mijn smaak, veel te sterk. Bitter, koffie en een klein beetje pure chocolade.
