Pours copper with a thin white foam disk. Great malt & flowers nose. Fantastic maltiness, dried exotic fruits, candied golden fruits and malp syrup. Very rich body, strong bitterness melt into a well balanced flavourful IIPA. Cheers !

Pours golden amber with a medium white head. Aroma is surprisingly mild - very mild grapefruity hops. Taste is pine up front with a very smooth mouthfeel. The tropical fruits creep in the mid palate with a mellow malty-bitter finish. Well balanced.

Pours cloudy orange from bottle dated 2/14/13 with a one finger fluffy head. Aroma if lots of grapefruit and caramel malts, maybe a bit of orange peel. Bitter pine up front fades into bitter grapefruit. A lingering pine on the palate. Medium to heavy slick mouthfeel. Medium plus carbonation. A nice example of the style, with lots of bitter.

330ml bottle shared by czar.
Appearance : Clear dark amber with small head.
Aroma : Great rich caramel with big resinous notes. Light tropical hops. Light alcohol.
Taste : Caramel and piny hops with tropical fruits. Light pineapple. Rather sweet, balanced bitterness. Citrusy and piny finish with more caramel.
Palate : Soft carbonation.
Overall : More on the barley wine side IMHO. Great balance between heavy caramel malts and hops. At first I didn’t think I’d like this because I like my IPAs lighter on the caramel malt but this really feels more like a barley wine and it does pretty good at that. Interesting touch of tropical fruits popping here and there thru the heavier resinous hops and caramel malts. Great beer. The homemade mix between Yin and Yang was less enjoyable than each of them taken alone.

From a 33 cl bottle. Pours a cloudy amber with an off white head. Nose is more herbal than citrus. Flavor has some grassy notes with a bitter, but not overwhelming so, finish.

bottle shared with fred82. pours hazy copper-reddish with a nice light beige head, decent retention. (bw feeling) spicy, fruity and toasted biscuity malts, hints of caramel and earthy tones, sweetness, warming alcohol, grassy and lightly resinous, citrus, also citrusy and strawberry-like medium hopping and medium long finish - tingling, peppery and citrusy. soft carbonation, medium body - oily, sticky. good balance. much enjoyed it!

Reminds me of a lower-ABV Dogfish 120. Perhaps the darkest in color DIPA I've had. Taste is sweet and resiny, with a syrupy mouthfeel. Some fruit as well, and a modicum of bitterness. Tried alone and not as part of a Black and Tan with Yin from the same brewer. On its own, an unusual Imperial for sure, and quite unlike West Coast IPAs to which I'm more accustomed. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
