COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Pours a slightly cloudy tawny color, khaki colored head. Good retention, nice lacing. Musky citrus aromas, light pine resin. Wow, flavor is odd yet intense. Sweet tea, citrus honey, some alcohol burn...faint. nice imperial ipa, will do this one again.

Candied orange, sugar-dusted tangerine, and honey-brushed grapefruit. Missing the West Coast hop-forward flavor and aroma but unique and well balanced. Enjoyed this one.

The aroma and hop flavors were a miss. The only thing that made this tolerable was the overwhelming sweetness and alcohol. Disappointing

Bottle from bierkompass.de web shop. Amber color with medium beige head. Aroma of grapefruit, lemon, orange peel, pines. Taste is pretty the same + lot of alcohol. Floral bitter finish. Nice.

draft at Blue Monk, Buffalo. Sherry caramel pour. Grapefruity/orange citrus driven hops fill aroma with sweet & rich malts. Sweet sweet flavor that overpowers the hops. OK

UPDATED: APR 3, 2012 From the 2/2012 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured an orange-caramel color with a trace tan head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was tangy apricot and pear. The flavor was dryish and tart initially then proceeded to sweet sugar, peach and pear. The finish was long with tangy golden fruits lingering. Thick and full bodied. Nice.

330ml bottle (BierKompass.de)
7 Lovely sweet biscuity caramelly hoppy aroma. Smelt it a thousand times before, but when it’s like this it’s yummy!
4 Rich orange, slight haze as a touch of sediment came over, large sticky doughy head.
7 Lovely aromatic spicy cakey retronasals, very christmassy. Slightly tangy hoppy bitterness too, a touch barky and earthy, but very well balanced while it remains relatively cold.
4 Full palate, a bit sweet and slick, but not offensively so, and the carbonation helps cut through that quite well. Finish is much as you;d expect. A touch barky, slight hint of pencil shavings, but in a nice woody way, and a fairly long lasting tingle from both the bitterness and the alcohol.
15 Did I mention alcohol? I don’t know why, this really isn’t boozy in any way shape or form. If you’d have told me it was 8%, I’d have complemented evil twin for covering that so well. 10% - unbelievable - well done sirs! As you probably know, this isn’t my favourite style, but to be honest this is a very good beer, the brewer’s really showing his craft. If I’m giving it 3.7, the average IPA nutter should be giving it 4.plenty. One of the best hoppy beers to have come out of BrewDog, to be honest. Can Evil Twin invade and take over, please?

Full flavoured with lots of hops and flowers it executes a controlled taste explosion of rich and a little sweet hops as it lands on my toungue. I really like it.

Tangerine and triple sec nose. Amber color, no head. Overripe orange and orange peel. Basic DIPA, somewhat boring.
