3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Brewed by Evil Twin Brewing, Stratford, CT. Pours copper-amber with very thin light-tan head and light lacing. Aroma is sweet and syrupy, with a melange of hop characteristics (herbal, fruity) alongside caramel malt. Flavor is quite bitter upfront, resinous, piney...dominating semi-sweet caramel malt that cannot balance the bitterness. Bitter, astringent finish. Bitterness über alles.

Pours hazy golden amber with white head. Aroma is cereal malts. Lots of big malty flavor with bitter pine hops. Don’t think i got this to terribly fresh, the malts take over the hops.Nice caramel malt profile though with lots of hoppy bitterness.

Deep cooper, amber hue.
Fruity esters, strong booze, 120 minute. Ivory.
Heavy, thick malts. Mild barleywine. Hops more bitter than any flavor, aroma.

It may be that it has been a while since having a DIPA but this was packing some serious bitterness. The malt didn’t do much to mask that either. Overall this was right on point with the style.

I might have gotten to this bottle too late. But for sure a hop aroma and taste but mostly malt finish.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle [12oz]. Pours a murky orange-amber with lots of floaties and an average size lasting frothy off-white head. Nice aroma of resiny and citrusy hops, citrus fruit, tropical fruit, sweet biscuity malt, a hint of spice and some light alcohol. Flavour’s also pretty good, and for the most part follows the aroma but there’s too much alcohol present, which detracts slightly from the enjoyment. Big, dry, bitter boozy finish. Almost astringent finish. Medium bodied. Less boozy and this would rate higher.

12 oz bottle: pour is clear golden with a sandy colored heard. Pretty lively carbonation. Aroma is not the in your face hoppiness i expected. Light citrus and pineapple with honey and candy/ bubblegum. Slightly sweet with aggressive bitterness all the way through to the finish. A little thin and something is left to be desired in the flavor department. Super drinkable for a 10% beer.
Yin and yang mix: the sum of the two beers is better than the two beers individually. Each beer just seems to compliment the other. Quite nice. I wondering if the bottled blend tastes the same.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

Just chugged 24oz of this in under a minute. Its fucken great. Only complaint is the color was a little darker than I like in my DIPA’s, borderlining on barleywine territory. Still fucken great, though. Like.
