Bought this along with the Yin to make the Black and Tan. Wanted to try both solo first. Smells like light citrus, very subtle pine, and a bit of lemon. Pours a cloudy orange/copper. Lacing is clumpy. Taste: hoppy. Light pine, but more citrus. Feels a tingle on the tongue, but can feel the taste all the way to the in throat (weird sensation, but not unpleasant). The citrus (grapefruit) hits upfront but the back lingers more of pine. Overall, I like this. Maybe not at the price point (but that could change while trying the black and tan Yin and Yang.)

Poured from 12 fl oz bottle. Cloudy dark orange with off-white head. Caramel and toffee malt with grapefruit and piney hops. The taste gives a surprising hint of subtle chocolate. Medium body, resinous finish.

Bue en bouteille de 33cl. Grosse amertume pour cette IPA. L'alcool tape bien et l'amertume est de plus en plus présente. Goûtée également en blend avec la Yin et étonnamment c'est très bon ;)

BOTTLE 12 OZ. Bottled FEB-2014. Lots of fruity caramel malts, balanced by an equally impressive amount of hops (less so in aroma, unfortunately). The result is what I call "a hoppy candy". Medium body, alcohol well hidden.

Rating #1103 - May 24, 2014 - Spring Fling at Liquor Select - Bottle 10%. Pours a darker amber, with a bubbly tan head. Aroma is citrusy, lemony, piney hops predominant. Taste is extremely hoppy, tempered with a pleasant cookie dough malty sweetness that disguises the higher abv quite well, mild lemon, mild pine, mild resin. Phenomenal good DIPA that tempers the evil of the Yin in an ultimate craft beer geek’s Black and Tan.

Tasty Imperial IPA. Hard to believe it's 10% ABV. nice subtle citrus and pine favors. Moderate after taste that is only mildly bitter. Over very good IPA.

33cl bottle. Pours hazy amber with three fingers of creamy off white head and some particles floating. Aroma is sweet malts, light roastiness, tropical and sweet fruits, citrus, hops. Taste starts sweet with light fruits and marmalade along some roasted notes before a very strong dry bitter finish with grassy and resinous hoppy notes. Long lasting bitter aftertaste. Very good if you like extra bitter stuff.

Appearance: Unclear golden color with a fine white head that leaves an ok lacing.
Aroma: Grapefruit hoppy, tropical fruity and malty.
Palate: Medium to full body. Slightly sweet and a nice bitterness. Average to soft carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Lovely tasty grapefruit hoppy, tropical fruity, malty and some alcohol coming up in the end.
Overall impression: Tasty and pleasant evening sipper.
Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with RickFifty

12oz bottle Btld 02/10/14 Slightly hazy orange gold body. Holds a small white head. Big nose; lots of hops - bitter orange, grapefruit, floral notes, cut grass, ripe apricot & stonefruits, with rich pale caramel malt underneath. Packs a punch on the palate - oily, thick, warming, quite confronting. Crams stacks of citrus (hop) character on the body; orange, kumquat, grapefruit, lime, seemingly adding its own slightly astringent bitterness & acidity. Big measure of pale malt & white sugar sweetness make a dent, but the bitterness is relentless. Boozy finish is not shy either. Very full on, aggressive, somewhat unbalanced and difficult to drink in a sense.
