Pours a half finger of head on a hazy straw body. The aroma is boozy hay in a barn. Interesting. The taste is a punch of lemon bitterness and malty sweetness all at once and together. Finishes with a bit of alcohol heat. The texture is thicker. It’s an imperial pale ale for sure.

Backlog rating. Keg at CBC CG, London. It pours a clean golden color with medium off-white head. Aroma is rich fruity sweet, with resinous hops and light toffee. Taste has more caramel malts, pine cones, resin, mango and straw. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, bold

Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. The beer has got a deep golden-amber colour with a steady head and smooth body. Aroma of hops, flowers and pine. Taste of intense hops, pine, herbs, mild spices, spruce, fresh fruits and flowers. Quaffable and enjoyable.

Bottlee. Amber, cloudy appearance. Unusual flavor and aroma, i am not familiar with these hopa very dry, grassy, herbal andedicinal. Hogh abb is hidden, andrhe hops are so powerful they seem to cut through any aweet malt that mighr be in there. Bitter aftertaste

Keg, Brewdog Leicester. Golden, orange with a thin head. Nutty, woody, earthy malts with bonfire night toffee. Spicy with marzipan, peppery alcohol and woody pine. Grapefruit pith with herbal, leafy notes. Chewy malts in a barley wine sense. Lemon sherbet with lightly funky, bready yeast. Dry finish with warming alcohol. Good.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. I don’t feel much more than extreme bitterness and quite some umami. And the booze, of course. But no particular flavours at all. What went wrong here? Is it me?

12 fl oz bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 01-10-2015.
Batch: 072/15.
In short: robust alcoholic bitter ale.
Pours hazy orange-light copper with little off white head. Short head retention, poor lacing. Ripe fruit, spicy, malty nose. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is quite bitter, fruity, pears, watermelon, caramel, little toasty notes. Quite ribust, warm and dry finish. Enjoyable.
