COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

A slightly opaque medium amber hue with a white head that had good retention and no lace. Aroma had a strong hop presence, mostly resinous notes but there was some grapefruit, tropical fruits and a slight floral quality. Flavor had some nice sweet caramel malts upfront. Hops seemed to have more grapefruit than anything else. Finish was nice and dry. Moderate mouth feel.

Hazy copper in color with a bubbly white head. Aroma of dank, sticky, resinous hops. Big malty, sweet flavor with a strong dose of bitterness. Really enjoyed this one.

Nice beer, close to a barleywine because its color and its malty, alcohol character. Nevertheless, the balance is sweetier than expected for a great Imperial IPA. Not a bad beer at all, but I expected more.

Flasche.

Tap at roundhouse taproom, hong kong. Amber color, white head. Aroma is rich sweet malty, fruity, mango. Boom! Hops, fruits, body, sweetness and hint of alcohol.

(bottle) murky amber-brown colour with a frothy beige head and quite a few floaties. aroma of alcohol, caramel and plums, with a touch of orange peel, some light kiwi and yeast. flavour is mostly treacle and treebark, slightly oxidized and resinous, with a light sweetness, some more orange peel and alcohol. heavy-bodied with soft carbonation.

A golden orange colour with a thick foamy off white head. Aroma and taste of syrupy citrus fruit, caramel malt, grass, and hints of pine. Lots of grassy citrus bitterness in the flavour.

Pours a hazy coppery amber, with a foamy off white head. Aroma is floral, resin, caramel, malt, and a touch of alcohol. Taste is earthy, floral, faint citrus notes with a strong malt presence. Finishes slightly astringent, with lingering citrus. Light body, soft carbonation, slightly oily texture. I’m impressed.

Bottle.pours a cloudy dark amber color with a small head. Aroma of pine and citrus with a bit of fruit. Taste of pine, bit of grapefruit and light fruit. Solid bitterness that lingers and a dry finish. Medium body, crisp with no hint of the 10% ABV.

Bottle from CBB. A great looking vibrant and deep copper pour with a soapy looking head of foam. Fruity sweet aroma mixing hops & sweet malts. I get grapes & honeyed graham biscuits. Very much in that area between Imperial IPA & American Barleywine. Medium bodied with a zesty mouthfeel. The taste is remarkably sweet, fruits, grapes then it gets bitter with grapefruit pith and some pine sap yet it retains a nice amount of residual sweetness while hiding the high ABV barring some warming in your belly. Solid. Ap 4 ar 8 t 8 p 4 o 14

Review based on the BJCP2008 guidelines (style 14C). Bottle 35.5 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: predominant malty aroma with some caramelisation. mild hop notes with a citric note. APPERANCE: amber color and slightly hazy. medium ivory head with good retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with a predominant malty sweet flavour. some faint hop flavour exists in the background with a floral character. high bitterness that lingers well beyond a semi-dry finish. PALATE: medium body with médium carbonation. no astringency. OVERALL: an odd imperial IPA, too much balanced towards the malt, and lacking hop presence (aroma and flavour), maybe because it was bottled in 2013.
