3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy copper pour with a 2 finger, creamy beige head that has great retention and leaves a little lacing. Aroma of blood orange- like citrus hops, floral, grassy, spicy and light tropical hops, toast, biscuit, light caramel and a little cat box and pine, more noticeable as it warms. Flavor is caramel, white bread crust, sweet fruity notes, the hops roll in with some nice, sweet citrus, resinous hops, light mango/tropical fruit, bitter sweet grass and a light, nutty, almond like note in the fairly bitter, grapefruit finish. Medium body with and amazingly creamy entry, all the way up to the creamy, but slightly dry finish. The dryness lingers and becomes pretty astringent after that. Carbonation is light, to moderate, with a somewhat sharp feel. Very good overall, though the finish is a bit bracingly bitter and a little medicinal after an otherwise fairly sweet IIPA drink.

OK DIPA. Not the best taste or palate, really leaves you wanting more. Feels too unbalanced.

Pours a clear amber with a fluffy white head. Aroma of citrus and some melon. Flavors follow. Fairly bitter but not overwhelming. Overall nice beer.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33 cL bottle courtesy of Chris, served in a stem glass side-by-side with Yin, Yin & Yang and our own blend of Yin and Yang. Pours hazy golden-amber with a small off-white head that fades to a thin remnant and leaves a trace amount of lace. On the nose, there are notes of citrus, resin and flowers, along with caramel malts. The flavour is balanced, medium sweet up front balanced with growing hop bitterness. It closes out with a nice herbal and resinous bitter finish. On the palate, it is medium in body with a slightly dry texture and soft carbonation. Overall, a nice IPA with good balance. Worth another try on its own. 2013-06-07

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep golden color with a good head and nice lacing on the glass.
The aroma offers a good dose of grapefruit and melon, it’s pleasantly hoppy, fresh smelling, and mildly sweet. It’s a totally inviting aroma for a beer like this.
The flavor is piney and lightly sweet. It’s got a moderate level of bitterness with some melon & fruit rind character. It’s pretty darned hoppy all around with a nice lingering bitterness.
Just when I had all but given up on Double IPA as a style that 500 BC thing & this come along, geeze.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. My 100th DIPA rating. Pours hazy amber with decent off white head. Diminishes quickly with spotty lacing. Aromas of grapefruit, pine, grass and subtle spice. Taste is big hoppy pine with, citrus, spice and mild bready sweetness. Finish is dry and slightly astringent. Great DIPA from Evil Twin. Thanks for the trade JB.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Pours dark hazy orange with a decent head that lasts through the whole glass and leaves okay lacing. Aroma is yummy floral and bright citrus hops. Lightly bitter and medium to heavy sweet with a faint sourness of dark fruit in the finish. Full body, creamy texture, average carbonation, rich malts that are balanced very well with floral hops, completely hides the alcohol. Excellent!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
This one is pretty intense. Pine forest nose dominates. Beautiful looking, dark gold, very slight haze, white fluffy top, rich retention. Palate is in your face and bold. IBU overdrive hides the booze.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Imperial ipa veramente magistrale. Luppolatura intensa e molto complessa. Va giù che è un piacere. Avrei voluto provarla mischiata con la Yin (la sua controparte stout), come consigliano loro. Spero in futuro di poterlo fare!

Draft - pours black with tan head. Nose is smoky with dark fruit. Sip adds coffee. Very dry finish. Complex bitterness. Remarkable easy to drink.
