Hazy copper pour with a 2 finger, creamy beige head that has great retention and leaves a little lacing. Aroma of blood orange- like citrus hops, floral, grassy, spicy and light tropical hops, toast, biscuit, light caramel and a little cat box and pine, more noticeable as it warms. Flavor is caramel, white bread crust, sweet fruity notes, the hops roll in with some nice, sweet citrus, resinous hops, light mango/tropical fruit, bitter sweet grass and a light, nutty, almond like note in the fairly bitter, grapefruit finish. Medium body with and amazingly creamy entry, all the way up to the creamy, but slightly dry finish. The dryness lingers and becomes pretty astringent after that. Carbonation is light, to moderate, with a somewhat sharp feel. Very good overall, though the finish is a bit bracingly bitter and a little medicinal after an otherwise fairly sweet IIPA drink.

Tap at Erzbierschof Zurich. I don’t feel much more than extreme bitterness and quite some umami. And the booze, of course. But no particular flavours at all. What went wrong here? Is it me?

12 fl oz bottle @Cimmeria, Oviedo. 01-10-2015.
Batch: 072/15.
In short: robust alcoholic bitter ale.
Pours hazy orange-light copper with little off white head. Short head retention, poor lacing. Ripe fruit, spicy, malty nose. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is quite bitter, fruity, pears, watermelon, caramel, little toasty notes. Quite ribust, warm and dry finish. Enjoyable.

Poured into a snifter. 4.5 A: Moderately hazed medium amber color. Three big fingers of pillow off-white head. Retention is good and tons of lacing is left. 4.0 S: This is a BW type DIPA. Big floral hop aroma right from the start. Citrusy orange, mango, pineapple, and grapefruit too. Layers of caramel sweetness on the malt side. Hints of toffee as well. Can’t complain, it smells great. 3.75 T: Resiny hoppy stickiness. Floral notes foremost once again, then orange, mango, and grapefruit. Moderate bitterness. Plenty of caramel sweetness to balance along with a hefty neutral malt maltiness. Again, quite nice. 4.25 M: Heavier body. Good moderate carbonation. Big creaminess with a moderate sticky chewiness. 4.0 D: Really tasty malty DIPA. Not much else to say. Pick it up. ★ 783 characters DavoleBomb, Aug 06, 2013

Pours rosey copper with flecks of sediment throughout. Aroma is sweet and sticky caramel balanced with sweet and sticky hops. Flavour is sweet but with a harshness from the hops which is enjoyable but not ideal. You have to try it with the "yin" as a truly sensational Black and Tan. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Having solo. An excellent IIPA. Has a nice aroma of spruce, pine, and hops. Flavour delivers the same, nice bitter pine notes with resin, hops, tar, malts, and hop flavours.

Light opalescent deep golden, light amber colour (EBC 8-10) with a fine poring pillowy off white head, good lacings. Aromas of caramel, toast, hay, wood-honey, pine/spruce, resinous, tropical fruits (mango) develop. Fine carbonation, smoothly-slick with a medium-full body. Sharp sting on the tip of the tongue developping into a nice toast sweetness moving quickly into a pine needle dry bitterness. Lasting finish, good balance as some light residual sweetness keeps the bitterness in check. hides its abv well.
