Imperial India Black Stout. This is a complete RTD Black and Tan. Not just any Black and Tan but the one where we flawlessly mixed a flippant good Imperial IPA with a profoundly evil Imperial Stout and sustained sweet beer balance. 33% Stout and 67% IPA.

The two beers were better sampled together rather than mixed. They were good mixed but much rather they weren’t.

DWG; Pour almost black with a moderate to long lasting, lacing tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, smoked, coffee, licorice, dark dried fruity and dark chocolate. Taste is heavy sweet, light bitter with a warming, sweet chocolate and coffe lasting finish. Body is full, texture is silky thick, carbonation is soft.

Bottles blended. Looks as though you would expect it when getting a Black n Tan. The nose is absolute chock full of those vibrant grapefruit and pine needle notes the Yang gives off. Very in your face with only mild chocolate and roast to back it. Molasses and liquorice play a bigger part in the taste but they are only there to balance out the huge pine driven hops coming through. Very passionfruit and orange forward with mild and sticky tropical fruits throughout. A big hop fueled experience, I really like the idea of buying the two beers and mixing it yourself. I tried it with a little more stout than IPA and I enjoyed it a lot. Kind of rounds it off nicely and gives it some decent balance to such a big beer, Cracking stuff

Draught mixed in a taproom. Pours a near black color with a moderate off-white head on there. Nose is only slightly roasty with a moderate amount of hoppiness in the form of grassy and floral notes. Taste is moderately bitter, with a nice amount of roasting. Feels very smooth. Really pleasant mixture.

Mixed the Yin and Yang together. Dark body with low tan head. Aroma has coffee, roasty, dark chocolate, light fruity. Taste has light chocolate sweetness, light fruity roastiness. Made it 50:50 and it has been very well balanced. Long lasting fruity bitterness with astringent end. Body is full, light carbonation. Interesting idea.

I actually bought the Yin and Yang separately and mixed them together. Absolutely delicious combination and mix of flavors with the IPA and Stout. Thick and rich overflowing head, rich dark color, and inviting aroma!

Mixed together. You get something from each brew. The roastiness, the floral and orange peel along with some chocolate. Medium body light carbonation.
