COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial India Black Stout. This is a complete RTD Black and Tan. Not just any Black and Tan but the one where we flawlessly mixed a flippant good Imperial IPA with a profoundly evil Imperial Stout and sustained sweet beer balance.

Draught. Pours dark brown in color with a tan head. Roasted notes upfront, some chocolate and fruity citrus notes in aroma. Some burnt notes are apparent as well. Notes of oranges and dark chocolate in taste.. There’s a nice bitterness present here too. Quite dry. Some nutty and piney notes in aftertaste.

Tap@brewdog hki. Black. Roasted, ashy nose. Pines there, lemon. Soft smooth texture, surprisingly light for the abv. Roasty, light smokey. Bitter, foresty piny. But smooth all the way. An imperial bipa. Clean, nice one. Chocolate in the finish.

12oz bottle. Pours a glossy black with a nice mocha head of foam that crowns the goblet I have poured it into. As the head recedes, it leaves behind a sticky tan lacing. The aroma is lots of roast and some hop bitterness. That is a lot of bitterness between the two. The flavors come together nicely - and don’t clash with one another the way that some black-IPAs do. The finish is also profoundly bitter, which gives this beer some separation from other beers of the type. A nice demonstration of brewing and blending skill.

Tap @ Fermentoren. Pours dark brown blackish with reddish hues. Aromas of licorice, some roast, light coffee, pretty fruity and has some malty and hoppy notes. Taste is pretty roasty, chocolate, licorice, light smoke, dry wood, hops, some malty notes with a pretty sweet, roasty and dry finish.

Extremely complex, fruity, floral, malty, coffee, caramel, carbonation, hops, dry. I enjoy a black and tan as a porter/IPA but this is completely mixed so there is not flavor continuum here to enjoy. I think I’d like these beers separate better.

bottle 330ml, pitch black with beige head, that is falling quite fast. Aroma is very stoutish and sweet with notes of milk chocolate, vanilla beans and roasted malt. On the other hand the taste is closer to an IPA with some deep going bitterness and medium sweetness. The finish is ashy with a long lasting bitterness of strongly roasted or even burned malt. Alcohol is good hidden. In general not bad, but body could be fuller. The burned afertaste is quite disturbing and I got the impression of eating an ashtray.

Great pour and good color. Little too strong to begin with and becomes smooth in the end. aroma of roasted grains and the hoppy aroma is not very apparent
