COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English Language Label: This is one half of a Black & Tan. Not just any Black & Tan, but one where a toasted smug and hoppy fella get together to make a sublime Taiji balance. Mix the Yin & Yang together (or enjoy this profoundly evil Imperial Stout solo).

Bottle from Rays in Tosa. Pours black as night with a brown foamy head leaving some spots of lace. Aroma has chocolate, espresso and molasses with some caramel. Luscious. Taste is of bakers chocolate, sweet caramel, heavy rich roasty espresso and some hints of marshmallow. Full bodied and quite smooth. Faint alcohol presence. Finishes more bitter than sweet, and rich. Excellent brew!

Pours dark with slither of tannish brown head. Lots rich stout flavor up front then a bitterness of hops for a finish. Different but good.

Bue à la pression. Belle couleur noire, fine mousse. Attaque onctueuse café/chocolat. Forte amertume ensuite, sursaut des houblons puis finale très sèche. Surprenant.

Bottle@angle, bbe 2015. Black, quickly fading tan jead. Salty licorice, soy, chocolate on nose. Full thickish body. Milk chocolate finish. Quite nice, soft rounded. A bit hard hitting on the salty soy still, but nice tho. Very flavourful and nice.has a bit, not much, of a soul.

Bottle - Opaque Black in colour with a tan head. Very Malty; roasty/burnt malts, lots of dark chocolate, lots of roasted espresso coffee, caramel, pronounced liquorice notes, hint of vanilla. Hoppy; Some balancing hop bitterness. Quite tarry in texture. Starts fairly sweet but ends on a burnt/roasty bitter note. Good Impy Stout!

Bottled 11/23/13 and poured 2/15/14. $4 single. Appearance: Pours black, black, black. Finger of a brown head. Basically no lacing. Definitely looks like an Imperial Stout. I always hope for some good head retention and/or lacing though, even at the 10%. (3.5/5) Smell: Interesting for an RIS. There’s an obvious hoppiness, but it’s not overbearing. Then there’s the usual culprits of chocolate, dark fruits, and coffee, also with almost a tobacco sort of thing going on. I like it. (4.25/5) Taste/feel: Medium/heavy body with about a medium carbonation. Was bitter for the first few sips, but really this is a pretty sweet RIS. Dark fruit flavors strangely seem to dominate the taste, as the chocolate/roast flavors take a back seat. The traditional RIS flavors seem to meld best at the very first moment Yin hits the tongue, and that’s about it. Enjoyable RIS, but I’m actually disappointed in the flavor a bit after smelling all that I did. The aftertaste is super dry, slightly ashy/smokey and tobacco-esque, which is nice to get after having what, to me, is almost a wallop of dried dark fruit flavors. Depth of flavor improves as it warms, with some more tobacco and roasty tastes coming through. (4/5, 4/5) Yin is a very nice brew. $4 isn’t an insane price to ask for this beer, but I think I’d tag it at $3 a single for a fair price. I’d have this one again as I enjoy it quite a lot, but there are better options available at a lower price, which seems to be the case with any Evil Twin beer. (4/5)

Black with a big, tan head. The aroma has cola, toffee, chocolate, and some herbal notes. It has a medium body with silky texture and average carbonation. The taste is mildly sweet with a roasted chocolate finish.
