COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English Language Label: This is one half of a Black & Tan. Not just any Black & Tan, but one where a toasted smug and hoppy fella get together to make a sublime Taiji balance. Mix the Yin & Yang together (or enjoy this profoundly evil Imperial Stout solo).

W aromacie głównie kawa, nuty palone i nuty winne a także nuty stajenne, lekki karmel. Piana dość obfita, brązowa, kremowa konsystencja, ładny lacing. barwa prawie czarna, nieprzejrzysta. W smaku głównie kawa mielona i winna kwaskowość, wyczuwalny także alkohol. Goryczka średnia, odczucie w ustach pełne, piwo ma kremową konsystencje, nasycenie średnie. Niestety, za mało w nim kontrującej słodyczy i za dużo kwaskowości w smaku. Plus natomiast za kremową konsystencje.

The aroma is not very strong but strong hint of coffee. Dark intense colour. Coffee is strong in the taste also.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; dark brown almost black pour with a creamy tan head, dark fruit and boozy aroma, taste had dark fruit, light coffee, brown sugar, sweet, hint of chocolate, roast malts, viscous mouthfeel, decent stuff.

Bottle. Super dark pour with a brown head. Big roasted malt, licorice, and some dark fruit sweetness. Excellent.

12oz bottle. Pours jet black, slightly thinner than some IS, still pretty thick however. Molasses, coffee, dark fruit in the aroma and taste, taste is more satisfying than the aroma which is fairly subdued. Finish is dark coffee bitter, some dark chocolate in there, a little smoky character.

Aroma is interesting - more smoky than most Imperial Stouts. I like it, but it’s just different. The best way I can describe this aroma is opening up the grill when you’re cooking a good steak. In fact, I think I just found a food pairing for this beer. For some reason, it smells like red meat to me, but I like red meat so that’s ok. Black as night with a small tan head. A little more carbonated than most great stouts I have had - that’s what takes the appearance from a 5 to a 4. I’m picky. Taste is smoky, hoppy for an IS, roasty and has a mild cocoa flavor. Better with each sip, but a bit overwhelming at first. Palate is a bit watery for the size of this beer. More like a Black IPA than a stout. Good, but Yang and the Yin & Yang mixture were both better.

A dark brown stout with a thin brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light coffee, caramel, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet caramel and chocolate cake, coffee, loads of alcohol, very nice. On tap at Torst.

Pours pitch black with a thin tan head. Aroma has a little chocolate with some bready grain malts and a very slight boozy undertone, quite unique. Taste is rich with a nice bitter kick to it. Full body, strong carbonation, and creamier on the palate. A very nice stout.

Draft @ Beer Temple. Pours a pitch black beer with a medium beige head on top. Aroma of licorice, coffee, molasses and caramel. Flavor has a lot of licorice, cinnamon, coffee, malts. Quite a bitter aftertaste, very nice, full bodied beer. Very nice.

Pours a really dark brown with a small beige head that leaves nice lacing. Aroma is of roasted malt and a little grapes, pretty simple and just your usual imperial stout. A little caramel on the nose also. Taste is sweet and offers some light caramel and booze along with some dark coffee flavors. Finish is pretty bitter from all the roasted malt. Drinks like a 10% imperial stout, hot but not too much. Body is full, carbonation medium-high and vaguely ruining the experience for me. Mouthfeel is still a bit sticky and imperial, though. Pretty extreme and good but not extraordinary to me.
