COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English Language Label: This is one half of a Black & Tan. Not just any Black & Tan, but one where a toasted smug and hoppy fella get together to make a sublime Taiji balance. Mix the Yin & Yang together (or enjoy this profoundly evil Imperial Stout solo).

Tap @ Cap Ale Downtown. Dark brown with mocha head and generous lacing. I get smells of roast, dark fruit, coconut, and booze ( and maybe cocoa). Nice dry bitter flavor with some roastiness. Bold then finishes dry. I like.

Poured from the bottle into a snifter. Pours a dark black with a small creamy tan head. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, and raisins. Taste is sweet on the tongue with the focus being on the coffee notes. Medium bodied beer with light carbonation and an oily mouth feel. Nice beer.

It's very STOUT and very BITTER. I enjoy a good stout regularly and despite its rating not going to be my future choice. Taste of coffee and smokiness enjoyable but overwhelmed by bitter finish.

GIJOE (621) - North Berwick, Maine, USA - JUL 27, 2014
Pours nearly black with a thick brownish head that stays. Generous lacing. Dark-roasted malt on the nose with notes of caramel, chocolate, and coffee. Taste quite bitter, like quality dark chocolate, but the huge malt bill is evident in the rich backbone of this beastly brew. Full body, lively carbonation, with a long booze-filled chocolate sort of finish. Excellent brew!

Bottle thanks to mittenator. Deep brown and tan head. Very toasty. Almost tastes like a foreign stout.

Pours dark brown, almost black. with a small beige head. Smoked, sweet, coffee aroma with a bit of alchool. Taste gets better and better as it warms up. Moderate to heavy sweet and a light to moderate sweetness with notes of burned malt, coffee and alchool. Texture is oily. Nice
