English Language Label: This is one half of a Black & Tan. Not just any Black & Tan, but one where a toasted smug and hoppy fella get together to make a sublime Taiji balance. Mix the Yin & Yang together (or enjoy this profoundly evil Imperial Stout solo).

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours very dark brown with a small sticky tan head. Nose is predominately roast, chocolate biscuit and mild aniseed. Taste opens it up completely. Sensational as it warmed. Really brings out plenty of molasses and liquorice while dark cacao comes through with a nice backing of chocolate biscuit. Cracking mouth feel on this. No hint whatsoever of the alcohol content. Superb stuff

Solid imperial stout, has a body of sweet malt and lots of fruit and spices. Bit too sweet though, could use some more roast or hop.

Bottle. Yin pours an unholy black with a brown creamy head. Aroma of roast malts, soy sauce, vegemite, cocoa and wood. Flavour is dark cocoa, ashy, lightly salty, lightly smoky. Quite full bodied. This is a RIS that sits on the roasty, salty side of the scale. Good stuff.

12 oz. bottled 12-30-13. Opaque ebony with a thin film and ring of cappuccino foam. Nose is mild, but shows some dark chocolate biscuit, dates, espresso, light soy and hints of red wine and cream. Tastes of unsweetened cocoa, espresso, biscuit, prune, dark grape, vanilla and lightly salty char. Finish has some bitter mineral notes that detract a bit after a while. Medium-heavy body has medium-high carbonation that’s too fizzy at times, and a slight astringency that keeps it from getting sticky. Nice balance and a touch of warmth. I used the second half of the bottle to make a black and tan with half the Yang I rated simultaneously, and I would say the the score of the mixed beer matches the scores I gave to the Yang.

Dark with light small foam. Aroma is mild caramel. Taste is roast and caramel - yum. Bang on. ABV very well hidden here. Finish is bitterness. Very reminiscent of 8 Wired iStout without the full bodied palate. Overall, nice imperial stout again from Evil Twin.

This is a good one. It’s black as shit and had a nice brown head. It’s aroma and taste are interesting. I can’t really pick out any specific flavors, It’s it’s own flavor. It kind of tastes like a thick stout with a stout with hops placed very well in it.

Thick heavily malted a lot of dark chocolate. The hops balance it well. This is a great stout.
