3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle at the parentals with my faj. Pour is pitch black with a frothy brown head and good lacing. Big tar, cocoa, vanilla, coffee, woody, graham crackers, and leathery aroma. Taste is chocolate, char, almost nutty, espresso, earthy, leather, and grapes with toasted bitter finish. Thick, syrupy mouthfeel with soft carbonation. Damn decent stout.

Pours black with thick tan head. Strong coffee and dark chocolate character with good palate feel. Good stout but strongly coffee oriented and lacks sweetness

Very good motor oil like pour w/ a perfect mocha head that leaves just the right amount of lacing. The aroma is light as dark chocolate notes stand out. The taste is dry & slightly boring for an imperial stout. It has a nice chewy body & leaves a touch of roasty bitterness in the finish but there’s not much else. Solid yet unspectacular.

For cost not very good bitter with mouthfeel attack. Fades into a watery flavor. Very dark not much of a head.

A very drinkable but average RIS. Not much too it really, doesn’t have the think texture or luscious flavours I normally like in an RIS.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured with a black body with a tan head that faded away quickly. Aroma had a mild roasted malt note to it. It also had a slightly spicy note which at time reminded me of diet coke. Flavor seemed to be dominated by whatever adjunct was put into it. Which tasted like 5 spice powder. Some roasted malts and alcohol was mildly present. Finish was light.
