4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Oh yeah, this is good. Thick and chewy, yet has a nice graininess to it. Yum. The alcohol doesn’t present itself while you’re imbibing this magnificent brew but you feel it later when you can’t walk, or type straight. This almost has a little bit of milkiness to it also. Strange. But great.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap at Stillwater’s Of Love and Regret. Very dark bown pour with a chocolate milk colored foamy head that laces very well. Mild coffee and bittersweet chocolate aroma. Taste is unsweetened cocoa powder with iced coffee. Less sweet than American imperial stouts. Full in the mouth with roast and anise.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Whole Foods, Vienna 330ml (on sale for $6): Pours a black color with a brown head, of course. Aroma is heavily hopped. some smoke, lots of roasted malts, and a bit of dark chocolate. Taste is much the same. Hop bitterness hits at the front. The dry roasted malt finish hits hard towards the back. Alcohol supremely well-covered. I have a Yang in my fridge and I sort of regret that I didn’t mix them together, but oh well. I’ll drink the Yang later.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
33cl bottle, thanks to unstablefable. Pours opaque black with a crema head. Nose of really dark chocolate, coffee and nuts. The taste has really dark chocolate going into liquorice. The palate has a full body, a thick creamy texture and a finish which sits around a little bit, but for this style that’s not the end of the world. Overall, a cracking beer!

Lite diskret doft men en stor smak. Mycket torr, en del kaffe och lakrits. Lite lätt eftersmak. Mycket stabil.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle. Pitch black with small to average creamy lasting and lacing tan head. Intense aroma with typical roasty dark malt notes, a touch of smoke and ham, a dry note like very dark chocolate. Taste has some sweetness in the beginning, liquorice, then predominate dry and roasty notes. Endless dry finish. This is why you should drink beer.
