COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English Language Label: This is one half of a Black & Tan. Not just any Black & Tan, but one where a toasted smug and hoppy fella get together to make a sublime Taiji balance. Mix the Yin & Yang together (or enjoy this profoundly evil Imperial Stout solo).

330ml brown bottle. Best before 2015. Black, opaque, dense looking body, the head is thick and creamy, it is light brown. big rings of lace are left behind. Nose has thick cocoa and roasty malt. Taste has big roast, liquid dark chocolate, subtle bitterness. Finishes dry, lingering roast. Silky in the mouth, but full bodied, carbonation is light. Big, and very drinkable. An excellent beer for it’s price.

Aroma: The nose is licorice and coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, and a bit of caramel
Appearance: It pours a brown-black color with a light brown head and some medium-plus lace
Flavor: The taste leans roasty, with dry coffee, some caramel/chocolate sweetness, and a hint of fruit
Palate: The body is medium-plus, not as full as others in the style, with a soft carb. and a dry finish
Overall Impression: Decided to do a back-to-back of Yin and Yang today. Starting with Yin. This is a pretty tasty stout. There’s an interesting (and light) fruity character that comes out in the flavor that was a little surprising, but otherwise, it is just a well made (roast over sweet) example of the style.
The question: Will I make the Black and Tan? The answer: Yes.

---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
