COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
English Language Label: This is one half of a Black & Tan. Not just any Black & Tan, but one where a toasted smug and hoppy fella get together to make a sublime Taiji balance. Mix the Yin & Yang together (or enjoy this profoundly evil Imperial Stout solo).

pours the blackest thing that is not black ( like 99,99 % black, the rest is dark brown and red. nice ! small brown foam rather oaty smell. oaty taste bitter, some coffe, little hops as well. bit too much carbo for my taste. aftertaste is bitter, going to a more coffee-kind of thing. overall not a bad beer, but more like what a good imperial stout should be for a minimum ( sadly some are below ) . there are betters but this wraps it up pretty good.

Bottle shared by adnielsen. Pours black with some tan head. Lots of roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Nice little imperial stout.

Poured into a snifter, used oil black pour with a nice tan brown head that sticks around the edge. Aroma is dark chocolate, nice dark malts. Taste is huge, thick, smooth, cacao, bitter coffee, boozy. I feel like I’m also getting some pine hop characteristics in the late finish too. Great stout.

Bottle in Minneapolis picked up in KC. Pours a deep brown/black appearance with a brown head. Somewhat herbal, light veggie, very roasty malty, chocolate, coffee aroma. Anise, rich chocolate, bitter coffee, earthy flavor. Pretty good.

12oz bottle. Opaque black-brown body with a foamy beige head. Roasty cocoa chocolate flavors. Quite drinkable for the style, lots of nestle quik cocoa tones. Warming alcohol and coffee undercurrents. Kind of like a streamlined Danish Stout. Good, really good..just not enough depth to be great.

This is the weird little brother of the black & tan pairing that is Evil Twin Yin & Yang. This beer is awesome, but I far prefer the Yang. Mixing the two seems like pollution. A great beer, but the Yang is amazing. Pours black with an ample black head. Booze and dark chocolate dominate the nose. Flavor is a subtle sweet with the roasted malts providing nice balance. Excellent beer. Draft - Brick Store Pub - Decatur, GA

Dark chocolate cherry aroma, medium mouthfeel, and well balanced. Good, but not great.

Flight at Pizzeria Paradiso, D.C. A real surprise, great pitch black body with tan head that laces well. Flavors of dark chocolates and cherries give rise to a sinfully good roasted malt and oven-fresh chocolate cake nose. One of the best Imp. Stouts I have had, and that is saying something.

A four pack from Evil Twin? Sign me up. Black pour with an almost cascading fizzy brown head. Aroma was big roasty malt, burnt toast, spent coffee grounds, cocoa, touch of vanilla. Flavors were sweet and rich, cocoa, sweet vanilla and a big roasty burnt bitter finish. Really reminds me of a big roasty porter rather an imperial stout. Kinda thin and had that porter twang to it. Really dug it though, love the four pack format too.

On tap at Frisco Tap House & Brewery in Columbia, MD. Opaque, black-brown with a small khaki head and good lacing. Aroma of toast, peat, cocoa and dark roasted malt. Taste of roasted malt, bitter roasted coffee, sweet caramel, pine, cocoa and earthiness. Full/medium body and low/medium carbonization with a smooth mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
