3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma is interesting - more smoky than most Imperial Stouts. I like it, but it’s just different. The best way I can describe this aroma is opening up the grill when you’re cooking a good steak. In fact, I think I just found a food pairing for this beer. For some reason, it smells like red meat to me, but I like red meat so that’s ok. Black as night with a small tan head. A little more carbonated than most great stouts I have had - that’s what takes the appearance from a 5 to a 4. I’m picky. Taste is smoky, hoppy for an IS, roasty and has a mild cocoa flavor. Better with each sip, but a bit overwhelming at first. Palate is a bit watery for the size of this beer. More like a Black IPA than a stout. Good, but Yang and the Yin & Yang mixture were both better.

Nice stout. Pours s beautiful black. The aroma lets you know what about to hit your tongue. Chocolate, a little sweet fruit, maybe even a hint of licorice.

Svart med lavt brunlig skum. Aroma av sjokolade, kaffe, gummi og røstet malt. I smaken finner jeg kaffe, noe lakris. sjokolade. Fint lite sting av bitterhet. Tykk kropp, lav karbonering. Oljete.

Yin Imperial Taji Stout
Only black with a thin rusty tan head that vanished quickly. It has a great coffee mocha aroma that evokes freshly baked brownies with a cup of coffee - delicious. Med-full bodied with a smooth velvety mouthfeel. The taste is mocha, chocolate brownies, roasted barley or oats, some umami savouriness , sweet dark licorice & 70% cacao bitter chocolate - very good & more up my alley as I am not a huge hop head.

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bold black and beautiful. Pours an inky black and brown. Chocolate and bourbon nose.
Spicy almost with hints of chicory and clear notes of chocolate and roasted malts. This bold brew belongs in the hall of fame. Yup, it's that good.

Bottle from Baldwin beer store. Nose is heavy thick malt. Maybe rubber. Smooth at fist with acrid to follow. Not amazing. Would drink but wouldn't go out of my way to get.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Was in quite bad condition, but definitely catched high quality brew. Quite intense roasted malts.. lots of them, lovely mild dark choco, bit licorice. Moderate sweet with moderate to light bitterness.
Nicely warming. If tar is common association with IMP stouts, then this is definitely one of most tar-like IMPS. Awesome brew. must repeat

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A solid imperial stout on its own but i guess I should have another one mixed with Yang. Nice and oily with a decent tan head. Classic stout - chocolate, molasses in the malt. Hops stay in the background. Well done.

3.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pitch black, brown foam. The smell is coffeeish sweet. The taste is quite sweet and dry, oily and with a rather thick viscosity. The carbonation stays behind and leaves the show to the rest. This beer is well balanced. The right beverage to sip while sitting in your armchair in front of your fireplace while observing the snow outside.
