English Language Label: This is one half of a Black & Tan. Not just any Black & Tan, but one where a toasted smug and hoppy fella get together to make a sublime Taiji balance. Mix the Yin & Yang together (or enjoy this profoundly evil Imperial Stout solo).

Bottle from Monument. Aroma and flavor of bitter chocolate, Aquanet, licorice, dark fruit, and slight plastic. Wasn't a huge fan, especially at $10/bottle. I may pimp-slap this bitch next time, if I see it in the bottle shop. Not worth it, unless you're looking to mix the two. Ok beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with tan head. Thick, big sweet aromas, molasses, coffee, caramel, chocolate cake. Flavors aren’t as sweet, bitter chocolate, lingering bitterness on finish.

Bottle. Black pour with a thick, dense tan head. Aroma is roasty and a little creamy, chocolate notes. Flavour is sweet chocolate and a bitter roastiness, some dark fruits underneath as well, a touch of cherries. Perhaps a touch sweet, but very tasty.

330 ml bottle from Club de Cervezas, Chile. Pours deep black color with some burgundy hues against a strong source of light. Less than 1 finger of a tight tan head diminishes into a small film that lingers. Aroma is a malt bomb: Highly roasted character gives notes of dark chocolate, licorice, raisins, toasted hazelnuts and roasted, caramelized sugars. I swear I could detect hints of vanilla or American oak... Maybe not extremely complex but it hits in the right spot. Taste is more straight-forward, starting with caramelly sweetness and hints of molasses but increasingly roasty towards the end. The last few sips feel almost too sweet. It leaves a fine roasted aftertaste. Medium to big body. It reminds me of Samuel Smith’s Imperial Stout more than monstrous booze-bombs like BrewDog Tokyo* or Mikkeller Black Hole. It’s a good brew but I think I liked it much more at the beginning of my tasting and noticeably less during the last few sips.

Pitch black, small light brown lacing head. Aroma has roast, some coffee and licorice. Mouthfeel is fluffy and creamy with good bitter kick. Strong, fruity coffee flavour with more bitter licorice and hoppy notes. Well balanced and good.

Black as hell pour with barely any head. Burnt malt aromas with some licorice thrown in. Medium bitterness, with some chocolate notes lingering, of course. Definitely a solid offering from the Twin.

Jet black pour with an espresso head. Aroma of chocolate bread. Full syrupy mouth. Taste is sweet at first, lots of cocoa. Finishes super bitter, like sucking on chocolate malt. Bitterness isn’t overwhelming. Very nice.
