2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
0.5l bottle from #2. It has quite a cloudy look this. On the border of being murky in the glass, deep dark amber bronze in color and it has a nice really big and almost fluffy off-white lacing and lasting head. The name says that it should smell like hops. It doesn’t really do that. It’s much more earthy and potato-like in a way. Vegetables, soft boiled and it has hints of bitter orange zest. Not horrible, not pleasant either, but when you make a beer and call it "hoppy-sniff" (loose translation) it’s not supposed to smell like this. It doesn’t taste bad. Well, not very good either really. Hoppy? Not at all. Earthy and slightly chocolate sweet. Like chocolate wrapper filled with cardboard. It has a somewhat light oily mouthfeel and a above average carbonation level. Lots and lots of yeast here. You had one job; smell like hops. Why didn’t you do that!? 20.06.2014

Pours slightly hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of co2, yeast and a faint hint of orange and pine. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with a long bad old yeast finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is very fizzy (extremly overcarbonated without being a gusher)

1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 3/20
Bottle from Matkroken Natland, Bergen. Pours a clear deep amber body with a large, creamy white head. Nose is fruity esters, mild diacetyl, caramel, orange peel and hints of sulfur and red berries. Taste is wet cardboard, caramel, sticky white sugar tones, wine gum-ish esters, sulfur and hints of wet grains. Light body, medium to high carbonation. This did not work at all for me. Evje seriously need to look into their fermentiation routines if they’re gonna expand beyond local sales, let alone survive.
