COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lot #6 Double ipa: think of this as our Lot #3 on performance-enhancing malt and hops. 8.5%abv, and all kinds of tropical fruit and citrus notes. Tommy got very nervous when he saw all the hops going into this one. 18.5°

This one poured a dark yellow with a white head. Aroma was of oranges, grass and booze. Flavor was similar bitter and ora.get, caramel and booze. Not refined at all.

Rich deep hazy copper coloured body with a bright orange and peach coloured glow with a massive, four centimetre tall tan head - very nice. Aroma of resin, alcohol, pine, grapefruit, a lot of sugars and some noticeable malt. Full-bodied; Super rich flavour of grapefruit and resin up front - this is a pungent and potent beer. Aftertaste shows a great variety of hop flavours with floral notes spanning to pine and grapefruit and everything in between. All with a lot of malt behind for a great balance, but still a strong beer. Overall, a nice and deep imperial IPA that has a great flavour profile, is strong and pungent and served in a small format bottle. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 02-April-2013 for US$2.79 sampled at home in Washington on 08-May-2013.

Growler from cask shared by YGTBSM94. Mellowed out carbonation, no real head. Hazy honey orange-brown. Clean, smooth hop tones. Some tropical action. Very nice beer, well balanced, but still hop forward as per style. The body has diminished in the growler, but the flavor is still excellent. Well done!

Bottle courtesy of jcartamdg. Cheers, Jason! Pours a hazy orange with a white head. Nose is orange, some caramel, some light red and white grapefruit followed by some mild floral hops. Flavor starts with mild caramel and goes quickly to citrus explosion with white and red grapefruit coming into the mix. Light to medium in body with some mild booze toward the end.

Pours a lightly hazy orange with a medium creamy white head. Great hop aroma. Lots of orange with a touch of pine. Flavor of fresh American hops, loads of orange, some pine and a touch of caramel malt

From a 12 oz bottle at home. Pours a somewhat cloudy gold with a thick white head. Citrus hop aroma. Citrus, pine, tropical fruit with some biscuit. Smooth and full mouthfeel. Bitter finish. Nice DIPA.

Bottle from The Perfect Pour, Elkridge. Faintly opaque pour, deep orange. Nice filmy head and carbonation, but you can tell from the nose that this one’s past its prime. Gotta rate the bottle on hand (but why do craft beer places not refrigerate IPAs - seriously?). Might have started off malt forward anyways, for all I know, but it’s certainly sweet and chewy for the most part. Bitter, leafy tea dregs is what the hops have been reduced to. Notes of citrus in there if you try hard, I suppose. Nothing very fruity or fresh about it at all. I’d certainly like to try a young bottle at some point.

Tons of crystal malt in the backbone. Aggressive hop presence in the mouth. Well defined apples and oranges in the nose with some malty sweetness. Very well balanced. Big bitterness in the mouth through the finish. Heavy and balanced. Malt accented, very enjoyable IIPA.
