Lot #6 Double ipa: think of this as our Lot #3 on performance-enhancing malt and hops. 8.5%abv, and all kinds of tropical fruit and citrus notes. Tommy got very nervous when he saw all the hops going into this one. 18.5°

Draft - Max’s. Dark orange, creamy white head. Juicy tropical fruit and florals warms to swirls of dry pine and sweet peachy caramel. Bright and fresh citric-spruce hop flavors are well rounded with a lightly toasted sweet malt backbone. Light to medium bodied, medium carbonation, bitter finish. Though from Delaware, this screams Southern California style. Well done...

12oz bottle. Pours a clear orangey copper color with a two finger sticky white head that lasts. Aroma of grassy and citrus hops with toasted grains and sweet malt blended nicely with a mild alcohol presence. Taste has big resiny and leafy hops up front, grapefruit citrus flavors throughout, along with a mild tart middle and a sweet and tart finish. Medium bodied, crisp, with an edge to it, and moderate carbonation. Excellent representation of the style.

Tap. Half-finger white creamy head, lightly hazy coppery orange. Lots of tropical fruit in the aroma from the hops, light grapefruit and slight sweetness as well. Quite bitter, but very fruity with tropical and stone fruit with a lingering hop burn, fairly balanced. Medium to thicker body with tiny bubbly carbonation. Pretty tasty.

On tap at Pinocchio’s. Had this while my father had a Founders Double Trouble. Almost identical beers. Loads of grapefruit, a little less oily, just a little less sweet. Bitterness and abv almost identical. Evo 6 a tad more drinkable.

This was a nice double IPA that poured very thick and laced the glass well on every sip. The color was a deep copper and the aroma was of acidity and hops. The taste was sweet and a good blend of hop flavors.

355 mL bottle. This one looks, smells, and tastes like a texbook double IPa. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
