Lot #6 Double ipa: think of this as our Lot #3 on performance-enhancing malt and hops. 8.5%abv, and all kinds of tropical fruit and citrus notes. Tommy got very nervous when he saw all the hops going into this one. 18.5°

Bottle. Light copper color - clear. Aroma is quite hoppy. Really good. Good balance of hops and malt, but with the hops dominant.

Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel for the malt, moderate cooked orange for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with date and toffee in the background. Head is average size, frothy, off-white with excellent lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is slightly hazy, dark amber. Flavor starts moderately sweet and slightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, creamy with a soft to lively carbonation and a moderately astringent finish. Definitely one of the heavier weighted and thicker varieties of DIPAs. A slow sipper for sure.

Draft. Pours burnt orange with thin white head that dissipates. Above average carbonation. Citrus aroma. Some complexity but underwhelming for a dipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A lightly hazed golden DIPA with a thin white head. In aroma, loads of doughy caramel malt with resinous pungent floral hops, nice. In mouth, a nice caramel malt with resinous floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. On tap at Local Tavern, PHL.

[7628-20150910] 12floz bottle. Grainy boozy caramel aroma. Hazy, dark amber brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Grainy boozy caramel toasted malt flavour. Medium body. Interesting but possibly starting to suffer from aging. (7/3/7/3/16) 3.6

Pours a very hazy amber - looks like it is unfiltered, lots of stuff floating around. Nose is tropical fruit and citrus. Taste of grapefruit and some bitter hops. Definitely tastes better than it looks! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dank aroma with a lot of citrus hops, nice citrus flavors and a good malt balance, pretty good. Bottle like 6 months old, would like to try more fresh

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2016 Growler from Pip?s. Lots of green, oily hops in this, and a touch of metal. Pretty strong presence on the palate. Grapefruit with brown sugar, a little yeast, leafy greens. Possibly the best thing I?ve had yet from Evolution.

For a double IPA this has a pretty smooth taste and doesn’t wreck your palate like some ofther double IPA’s
