Reviewed from notes. Rcvd in trade. The appearance was a somewhat hazy golden amber/copper color with a two finger white foamy head that must last for a good minute and a half until finally it started dieing and leaving some foamy bubbly lacing clinging to the sides of the glass. The smell was a strong pine/citrus combination of sweet to bitter stickiness in the scent, decent caramel aroma in the background. The taste was bittersweet all the way through in a spectacular caramel sweet sort of way. Bittersweet pine/citrusy aftertaste leading to a dry finish. On the palate, it sat a light to medium in body with a decent sessionability about it. Carbonation is good for an AIPA and for me as there’s a decent acceptable harshness and a good dry bitterness lingering over my mouth and tongue. Overall, this was a pretty good AIPA that I would have again if I saw it and this would even be a decent offering with its respected food.

Bottle from Canal’s. Pours a moderate copper color with a small white head. Aroma is of pine, citrus, cracker malts, light caramel. Taste is pine hops, mild grassy notes, light bread, citrusy grapefruit bitterness that creeps through after a little balance of some bready malts. Nice bitterness.

Deep amber appearance with a large, off white head and good lacing. Hoppy aroma dotted with citrus and resin with just a hint of cracker in the background. Clean, well balanced, but hop-centric palate. Dry, bitter, spicy, piney aftertaste. Decently carbonated, medium length finish

Cask. Pours a clear copper body with a nice creamy tight bubbled beige head. The nose is wonderfully hoppy with lots of floral notes over a light toasty and caramel malt nose. The flavor is nicely balanced between the light floral bitterness and the toasty dry maltiness. A soft subtle yeastiness on the finish. Lighter bodied with perfect cask conditioned mouthfeel. Very nice beer, I think the cask serving method probably helped this one shine.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a copper color with some particulates and an off-white head that sticks around. Aroma is mostly citrus with some pine and spice notes. Medium body, slight dry finish. Some bitterness during the swallow. Little bit more of the hops than the malt but nice. Good IPA!

In 12 oz bottle. Aroma of grapefruit. Starts sweet (when cold), with orangey hops, becomes more bitter as it warms. Slightly better than your standard, baseline IPA.

keanex (1385) - Atco, New Jersey, USA - FEB 21, 2014
Bottle January 2014.
Appearance: The body has a light haze with a ruddy amber to copper hue, not a very appealing hue in my opinion. The off-white head is gorgeous though, dense and full of craters with excellent retention.
Aroma: The aroma is full of hop aromas, spicy and piney with an underlying citrus edge. I get some sweet bready malts with a light brown sugary aroma as well. The aroma is rather strong and pleasant.
Taste: The flavor comes off a bit watery after the aroma, but it holds much of it’s flavor. The intro is a bit weak, much like carbonated water with a hint of orange citrus. The malt base creeps in with a bready slightly sugary presence while a mildly spicy/piney soft bitterness finishes the beer.
Palate: Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
Overall: I’ll have to give this a try when I have a fresher palate I guess as the aroma is too nice for this to taste this watery. The price is a bit pricey compared to other local offerings though.
