This American style IPA is agressively hopped at a rate of over 2lbs. per barrel. Big notes of citrus and pine compliment a reserved but firm malt backbone.

On tap at Adega Wine Cellar & Cafe in Silver Spring, MD. Hazy, chestnut amber with moderate off-white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine, grapefruit and a touch of tropical fruit. Taste of pine, grapefruit and other citrus. A tasty hop bomb with little complexity or balancing malt flavors. Full/medium body and medium/high carbonation with great lush mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Reviewed 12/08/2012. 12 oz bottle poured into a pint glass. A: Pours a vaguely cloudy copper color. The head is a two finger offwhite color with the excellent texturing i expect from a good IPA. Lacing is patchy but somewhat consistent. S: Iím really liking the variety of hops this provides. Not only does it feature both pink grapefruit and mango from citrusy hops, thereís also a spicy pepper note from piny hops. Malts are generally neutral. T: Much like the aroma, this IPA hits a nice middle ground between citrus and pine flavors. An initial hint of vague malt sweetness is washed away by a midtaste of melon rind and grapefruit, before finishing with spicy pine notes. This might be one of the most complex IPAs Iíve ever had before, successfully pulling out a melange of various hop flavors (alongside light maltiness) at differing points in the flavor progression. The fact it manages to fuse this subtle complexity with high drinkability is just gravy. M: The texture is never too heavy or too light on the palate. It is, however, a hair too sharp, especially near the finish. Carbonation is just right. O: This really needs more love. The IPA I think this is closest to in terms of its flavor profile is FW Union Jack - and thatís mighty high praise. Maybe Iím a homer and I just like it because itís both inexpensive and one of the few craft offerings so readily available in my area...nah, this is just an excellent IPA.

Bottle from a trade...I think. Nice looking clear, bronze pour with a medium, foamy, khaki head. Thick lacing. Huge west coast hop aroma that covers sweet, bitter and a little funk. Nice balance in the flavor too from the solid malt backbone. Seems like a quick finish but the bitterness doubles back on you.

Good earthy aroma, golden in color. Taste is great blend of hoppy and sweet, drinks smoothly. One of my favorite IPAs Iíve tasted.

Pint at Old Dominion Brewhouse. pours a slightly hazy copper with a long lasting white head. The aroma is a grapefruit assault. I like it. It smells very fresh with full-on hoppiness. The flavor is clean with roleplaying malts allowing the generous usage of hops to really shine. There is resinous pine after the citrus blast. This is a clean, delicious, true-to-style American IPA.

12oz bottle courtesy of GT2/CaptCougar Thanks guys! A nice middle of the road IPA, good nose solid body and solid balance.. a little too much malt for me, but definitely a well made IPA

12 oz bottle: Pours a nice light orange with a thick, light tan head. Little CO2 release but heavy bubbles on the side of the glass. Aroma is pine and citrus with some nice roasted malt. Taste is slightly sweet, slightly bitter. Flavors of toasted malt, fresh cut grass and some floral hops. Too heavy malt balance for my preference. Slightly bubbly on the palate, slightly dry finish. Easy drinking, mostly smooth. Pretty good but nothing out of ordinary and barely in the style.

Bottle. Pours a light amber color with a nice white head. Aroma is a decent pine hoppiness. Flavor is a bit thin, but has a good hop punch balanced with a slight malty sweetness. Focuses more on pine than on citrus. Very easy to drink a few of these, but doesnít have complex citrus/pine/dank hoppiness.

Bottle at craft ale house. Pours clear copper with minimal white head. The aroma Is pretty pine forward with some minor floral notes. The taste fairly bitter but has a big citrus kick in the finish. The palate is appropriate.
