Menagerie #3 - Its a real big, rich scotch ale, 2/3 of which have been in bourbon barrels for 6 months.

DocLock (9999) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 11, 2016
Shared at Craft. Poured hazy chestnut with tan head. Nose was caramel malt, nuts, oak, bourbon. Rich flavor with dense palate heft, providing big notes of oak, bourbon, brown sugar, nuts, dark fruit. Solid beer.

On tap at koopers, Dellís point. Hoppy...... some fruit, lemon, mango, . late pine. Not bad, not great. A little rough around the edges.

Didnít blast me away btu as a 10% abv scotch ale it had some really ncie alcoholc presence.

Bomber courtesy of Beerand Blues2 (thanks Brad) poured a clear reddish amber with a lingering ring of amber foam. Aromas of bourbon, toffee, oak, carmel, light fruittiness and a hint of vanilla. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bourbon, toffee, brown sugar, carmel, oak and a hint of fruittiness with a smooth lingering bourbon finish.

22 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a small biege head. Aroma of caramel, malt, and bourbon. Taste is bourbon, malt, fruit, caramel, and toffee. Pleasant.

22 ounce bottle courtesy of TheCPJ, thanks Shane. Pours a copper color with aromas of bourbon, light spice, and some coconut. Flavors of oak, spice, bourbon, some light tartness form oxidation, and roasted malt. Interesting beer, lots going on, glad I got to try this one. Thanks again for the bottle.

Ok here goes. I passed on this keg seven times because I was to uncertain about what might be in store. I wish I had taken the keg home on the first pass. This is an exceptional beer as are all the Evolution offerings. Pours a darker reddish color almost like sweet tea. Has a very thick tan head with a very nutty aroma to it. Taste is very complex with many flavors peeking through. Some Toffee, Butterscotch, hints of vanilla on the front and a nice oak aged bourbon taste in the middle with a comples maltyness that canít really be explained. The alcohol is very high and will show itself if you over indulge. Oh and did I mention I really like this one. I hope you all enjoy another fine offering from Delaware/now Marylands best little brewery.

Deep red pour with a thin white head. Woody booze and sweet dark sugars lead to caramel and toffee. Medium body with low carbonation levels and a sticky finish.

Hazy golden color, thick tan head, solid lacing. Aroma of grass, flowers, light pine. Taste is moderately bitter lightly spiced pine resin. Nice.

Courtesy of douglas88 pouring up clear copper to light brown with tan head. The aroma is all coconut, bourbon and a bit of vague spiciness. The taste starts with a mix of soured beer tartness and spicy oak that doesnít go too well together. It then picks up a modest level of roasted maltiness, sweet coconut and then more smooth bourbon into the finish. The smooth sweetness is then interrupted by more tart and sour beer notes and sort of a rye booze mixing with a red wine tart quality. Interesting and at odds with itself.
