Draft at brewpub..not getting much of anything on nose..claims to have notes of pine and citrus..not really getting that however..lemony dominant on taste..a very tame and not very hoppy pale ale..a jr pale ale that misses the mark..however it is easy drinking..decent..

12 oz bottle into a Samuel Smith pint glass. A: Pours a hazy golden color thatís surprisingly attractive given its lack of clarity. The head is a typical one finger white shade. Not much retention, but good residual lacing. S: Slight caramel sweetness, biscuits, toffee, sweet citrus, and faint hints of pine. The aromatic qualities are a bit mild (especially hop-wise) for me, but are nonetheless enjoyable and even mildly complex. T: In general, itís a bit low on flavor. The initial flavors are classically biscuity, before finishing with faint grapefruit peel. Hop bitterness washes out nicely after a couple sips. On the other hand, I feel like the hop profile could be more distinct. I notice a distant aftertaste of slight diacetyl and nuts, also. Not bad. M: The strong carbonation works well with the combination of a sweet, malty finish and resiny texture. I could use a drier aftertaste here, but this drinks fine either way. O: Itís a decent offering to have with a sandwich at lunch. Worth a shot, but there are a lot of other pale ales Iíd much rather have. A bit too safe and inoffensive for my tastes, but itís better if you go in expecting an English-style pale ale.

12 ounce bottle from Wine Warehouse. One of those uber-common beers Iíve somehow never tried. Until now! Pours a slightly hazy pale golden color with a medium sized creamy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of pale, grainy malts and herbal hops. The taste is pine, citrus and herbal hops with pale malts. Light toast. Thin-medium bodied. Decent.

12 oz bottle: Pours a bright yellow/orange with a thick white head. Aroma is sour, bready, cheese, not very appealing. Taste is salty and bitter with tastes of sourdough. Palate is bubbly bitter and sour on the finish. Not very good.

Drinking at an airport bar in baltimore. Nice aroma, body and flavour falls a little short but still an acceptable pale ale.

Aroma promises a lot but the rest doesnít match the hype and brings a decent textbook tasting pale ale which is nice on a hot day. But not very primal which I took to mean interesting. Golden color, straw and grass with some citeus in the finish. I could drink a bunch of these but my main draw is that awesome aroma not the flavor.

Best before October 2012.

A: This beer is a beautiful looking pale ale despite no matter what glass I use, Iíve drank a 6 pack now all out of different glasses and this looks stunning in all. A crystal clear amber body shows off a lot of carbonation activity, this beer is alive! A sizable very light tan creamy head sits on-top with good retention.

S: The aroma here is pretty nice as well, a bit grassy and resinous pine with hints of citrus. The aroma has a nice strength and a good balance.

T: The wonderful aroma blends with a strong malt base. Grass and pine with hints of sweet citrus make up the hop profile providing a moderate bitterness. This is very clean.

M: Creamy body.

O: This is a really solid pale ale, I donít know why itís rated so low, but Iím really enjoying this. The hops come through fresh and thereís good balance, this is very drinkable. If I could get this in New Jersey this would be possibly my favorite lawn-mower beer. Iím wondering if others have maybe had old bottles, or the brewery is very inconsistent, but this is a solid beer.

Bottle from Blue Dos. Pours translucent dark straw with minimal fizzy off-white head and a ton of carbonation streams. Nose is pale malt, honey, white grapes, hops. Tastes dry and floral, pale malty, citric, with hops, chardonnay notes. Has some off vegetal finishing notes. This one was just a bit outside (the good beer level).
