COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A caribbean stout infused with coffee. The caribbean style is synonymous with strong full bodied stouts. Ours is rich and dark with a toasted brown head, well balanced, roasty and full flavored. Cold steeping with an organic coffee, from Rise Up, imparts a generous but balanced coffee nose and flavor. 40 IBU’s 6.7% ABV

Appearance: near black, short, creamy tan head shrinking to a thick collar, minimal lacing. Aroma: strong notes of cold-pressed coffee, dark chocolate, some soy sauce and a bit of licorice. Taste: as the aroma indicates, with bitter, slightly acidic coffee most prominent. Finish: long finish, a bit acidic and astringent, very roasty. Notes: Loved the palate--smooth and silky. Coffee was just a tad on the wrong side of the scales, with too much acidity--that’s the only thing that kept this from being amazing.

Pours an inky, opaque black with a dense light brown head which lingers......aroma is coffee, chocolate.....taste is burnt chocolate, coffee grounds, sweet then dries a touch in the finish but still overwhelming coffee....needs a touch more complexity.

12 oz bottle. Pours a clear near black with light passing as a dark ruby hue when backlit. A dark tan head fades to the edge fairly quickly, leaving barely any lacing. Aroma is overall mild, but complex: chocolate malt, cocoa, bittersweet chocolate syrup, and coffee in the form of mocha. Flavor is same, and very rich for a 6.7%. Mild dark cherry tang in the finish, which is very nice. Medium bodied, active carbonation, a great beer.

The overpowering roastiness of this stout just kicks you in the teeth. It's too much. Even for a roasty stout. Sorry. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark chocolate, roast, fruity tobacco. Black with a fully lasting tan head. Big roast coffee flavors in the attack, soily earthiness. Full bodied with lingering roasted malty notes.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2014 Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a black color with a small foamy tan head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was fairly strong brewed coffee and a bit of wood. The flavor was fairly strong brewed coffee, wood and an acidic presence. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

4-pack from Nick’s of Clinton. the beer is opaque, sporting a near black body and a half inch of beige head. The aroma offers roast, coffee, bready malt. Roast and stout character lead the charge, with coffee playing a supporting role. Rich and dark, with a mild hop presence and perhaps a touch of earthiness. Medium bodied. Simple and straightforward. A solid stout and at a decent price. Recommended.

Dark color, tan lace. Dark coffee, espresso taste. Pretty sticky. Medium-thin body, medium duration. Flavor is not as strong as I would hope it would be.
