Beautiful radiant golden copper color and dense creamy head. Not anything I’d go after again, but not entirely displeasing either. Warm herbal/spicy nose, earthy hop tones and a well toasted grain character. Not as well balanced as the description asserts an a bit watery. Safe to say that this is a C student.

This was a really good offering from Evolution. Had a nice full body to it and had more of a dunkel flavor in the sweetness. Nice dark color and good head. Nice seasonal.

Pours clear deep amber with a medium tan head...good lacing and retention. Aroma is very faint but has touches of dry leaves, nuttiness, and a hint of sweet maltiness. Flavor has some sweet fruity/malty notes, mild tea, dry leaves, and earthy bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium and a bit sticky with an earthy/bitter finish.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Total Wine-McLean, 2/13/13
Aroma: The nose is clean and malty, some nutty notes, a bit of fruit, toasted malts, and caramel
Appearance: It pours a reddish color with a small beige head and some medium lacework
Flavor: The flavor is mid-sweet, pretty much all malts with just a tiny hint of hop bitterness to it
Palate: The body is medium, it drinks cleanly enough, with average carbonation, and a sticky finish
Overall Impression:
Rater #22! This is a solid beer, but not a standout for me. It is malty, drinkable, and fine, but it just doesn’t have anything that would make you really rush out and try one.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 jgb9348 (3968) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - FEB 5, 2013
Slightly hazy amber coloured body with a bright ruby tint and a nice, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of pale malt, alcohol, nuts, earth, very light spices and a hint of english or german hops. Light-bodied; Sharp metallic note along with some nuttiness, a hint of the hops, a little alcohol sharpness and a definite bitter earth flavour. Aftertaste shows the slow alcohol burn and a larger metallic and pungent finish, with a hint of sugars and a little spice kick. Overall, a pretty pungent beer for the style with the alcohol showing through and a bit too much bitterness for me. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Grateful Red in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 02-February-2013 for US$2.47 sampled at home in Washington on 05-February-2013.

Bottle. Dark amber color, medium white head. Aroma of slightly toasted nutty caramel. Taste is earthy caramel.

Slightly cloudy, deep amber appearance with an average size off white head and good lacing. Subtle aroma of caramel malts and soft fruit. Flavors of floral, spicy hops with a moderately sweet malt backbone. Medium bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel with a lingering finish.
3.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 hfmejias (352) - Dover, Delaware, USA - JAN 15, 2013
Out of the bottle poured a hazy dark brown color, malty and sort of Piney aroma. Taste is nice lots of hops, with a citrus touch/aftertaste...
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Scubatrip (584) - Annandale, Virginia, USA - JAN 11, 2013
From the bottle, pours a hazy brownish red with a thin white head and nice lacing. Thick earthy malty aroma. Taste wants to be thick but feels more carbonated than it actually is. Earthy malty, brown sugar and molasses, an attempt at sweetness that fails to really catch on, ending with a mild bitterness of earthy hops. Almost a refreshing beer while ice cold. I give this an "ok".
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 HeadyDE (228) - Delaware, USA - DEC 29, 2012
Draft offering..coppery color..aroma and nose are faint to say the least..fairly non descript.filmy head stays a bit..spicy finish but not in a good sense..a bit much..hard to believe that a really solid brewery like evo puts out some really good beers and a few duds..not very impressed with their sprung or this at all...
