Lot #6 Double ipa: think of this as our Lot #3 on performance-enhancing malt and hops. 8.5%abv, and all kinds of tropical fruit and citrus notes. Tommy got very nervous when he saw all the hops going into this one. 18.5°

Hazy amber/orange appearance with an average size, off white head and a fair amount of lacing. Straight up hop aroma of tropical fruit and a bit of resin. Deliciously out-of-balance taste dominated by the piney, fruity hops. The modest sweetness provided by the caramel malts only make a minor dent. Alcohol becomes more pronounced in the aftertaste. Full bodied, well carbonated mouthfeel leading to a lingering finish.

Bottle from Total Wine in Jensen Beach, no bottle date. Orange pour with an off-orange head, leaving some lace. Aroma has sweet fruits, pine and garlic. Later some caramel shows through. Taste is of citrus, heavy pine, some resin and some caramel. Thick and syrupy. Finishes bitter and sweet, with length. This was rough and tough, and enjoyable. 14.9
