3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle split with Anndiesel. Black burgundy, with a foamy beige head. Coffee chocolate aroma, a little odd, pungent. Mild, easing going, respectable enough Porter. Easy doughy chocolate, caramel flavored body. Watery black malt notes, a touch of amber malt in there too maybe. Smooth and sessionable.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice hop presence on this dark porter with ruby edges. Coffee, chicory, toast, a little pine sap and a little syrup. Full and long, but a tiny bit papery on the palate. Nice low alcohol makes this a cool porter.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Dark color, translucent, and a bit reddish. Aroma is very good, sweet cuban coffee and caramel. Flaovr is a very roasty espresso like burnt character. Lots of ash and bitterness in the flavor. Light though, palate is cool and witha bitter aftertaste.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
No bottling information.
Appearance: The body is a deep chestnut, appearing an opaque black in the glass. The head is short, thin and short lived. The head settles into a very thin ring with almost nothing on the surface.
Aroma: The aroma is a mix of sweet cocoa, hints of roast, fig, and smoke. The aroma has good strength, but I don’t enjoy the blend.
Taste: The flavor is of dried figs throughout, very prominent with a touch of roast towards the end with a lightly smoked finish that’s semi-dry with a lingering fig.
Palate: The body is a bit watery in feel, carbonation is light to moderate.
Overall: This porter isn’t really doing it for me. Too much fruit for my liking and too watery of a body.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled...not much head, a bit too carbonated for me, but that aside it has a good smoky taste.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sweeter than I'd prefer a porter to be. Notes of vanilla. A better dessert beer than session porter, not that there's anything wrong with that. Malts are very powerful, which wouldn't be bad but the hops aren't there to balance it out.

0.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
$1.75 for a bottle at Wine Warehouse, Charlottesville. Pours.... head, head, head... settles for a long time. Another pour: head head head. OK something’s up. Smells sour. Taste is sour... undrinkable. This bottle may be bad... looks like I’m not the only one with this problem with this beer.
