bottle...I’d call this a wine barrel aged saison, its quite nice and worth seeking out... light funk, lots of oak, vinous, and a bit hoppy... I’m a fan

Big thanks to Chris for opening this in line at Dark Lord Day 2012. Served in a taster glass. Pours a nice golden color with a fairly-foamy white head and a bit of lacing as it goes down. The nose carries a good dose of Chardonnay plus a touch of Brett-induced funk. Nice dryness and crispness to the flavor with earthy notes underneath a nice oak presence along with dry white grapes. Good body and dry finish. Very nice.

750 ml bottle poured from bottle no. 384 of 1350, the color is beautiful rich head that subsides slowly, nose is floral and rich with hints of banana, flavor is dominated by the chardonnay barrels its aged in, the after taste is very white wine smooth buttery and white grapes, very nice beer

Thanks to Armin for sharing - turbid gold pour - nose is mostly chard, with some vanilla and light coconut from the oak - fairly creamy in the mouthfeel - flavor is a bit acidic, but is mostly chard and strong wood - finish is fairly acidic and watery - I thought I liked it, but meh.

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, thanks James! Clear orange pour with nice white head, laced fairly well. Aroma has notes of funk, white grape, pear, peach, some slight funk notes, touch of biscuit and a slight grassy note, some lemon as well with a nice pineapple note from the brett. Taste is nice funky and sour lacto, hints of biscuit and pear notes, some grass and earth notes as well, finishing fairly bitter with a slight funky and dry note. Nice brew!

Bottle shared by willblake at the tasting in his honor, thanks Jon. Poured a fuller looking orange body with a large fluffy white head. Aroma had a slight touch of butter that was off putting, wood, toast, light wine. Thin bodied with soft carbonation. Flavor was rather nutty for some reason along with wheat toast, and wine. Meh, didn’t really care for this one.

750ml Bottle (#1234 of 1350): Aroma of fruit, slight Brett, oak, Chardonnay, and a hint of funk. Poured orange/gold in color with a large, creamy, dense, off-white/orange-tinged head that greatly diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Very sparkling. Full of tiny-sized particles throughout. Very good lacing. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of Brett, vanilla, light fruit, Chardonnay, slight oak, slight funk, and a hint of barnyard. Medium body. Slick, then dry texture. Average to lively carbonation. Fruit, Brett, vanilla, Cahardonnay, oak, finish is dry. 7.2%ABV is completely hidden throughout.
