A dark strong ale aged in bourbon barrels. This bourbon forward ale has aggressive notes of vanilla, char and bourbon heat. Balancing the barrel character are elements of chocolate, coffee, toffee and caramel. This beer is black with a tan head, modest carbonation and is best served at 50-55F

Bottle from Champagne’s, the best I have had from the series. Here, the bourbon is smoothly integrated rather than the opposite I have had from other brewers. Moderation in chocolate, coffee, and all things. beautiful!

Bottle. Pours dark brown, with a light brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark fruit, coffee, vanilla, and some bourbon. Flavor is vanilla, roasted malt, dark fruit, bourbon, alcohol chocolate, and coffee. Medium to heavy body, fairly long finish. Enjoyed this one a lot.

Serving: 750 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a dark brown color with a nice tan head. Like most of the migration series, there seems to be a good bit of carbonation. Lots of dark fruit and caramel with a hint of wood. The bourbon is light on the tongue which is good. The flavors of dark caramel, toffee, dried cherries and plums all mix together well. A little vanilla and light cocoa notes come out as it warms. The high ABV dries things out on the back end and provides a warming feeling as it goes down. Nice brew.

750 thanks to Bob. Nice dark pour. Bit of molasses. Creamy. Some bourbon. Not a lot of bourbon in nose or taste. Bit of chocolate as well. Nice. I should let it warm up a bit.

25.4 oz bottle. Black brown, kicks up a big tan head with a brisk pour. Nose is bourbon, oak, cocoa and molasses; hints of licorice. Silky and coating with a tang and a tingle, getting hot. Just the right amount of bourbon in the taste playing nicely off the other components instead of as an accent or enhancement. Bittersweet chocolate and Cuban espresso with mild smoke, plum and juniper. Leaning toward an Old Ale.

bottle 1087 out of 1400...sidney crosby sucks my hairy balls. Pours pitch black with a medium tan head. aroma has caramel, burnt toffee, and dark fruit. flavor follows suit and adds burnt bitterness, molasses and vanilla...very mild bourbon. mouthfeel is medium with a nice warming dark fruit/roasted bourbon finish.

750ml bottle: pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a stringy-lacing off-white head. Has a sweet dark caramel malty nose with some dark chocolate and bourbon vanilla oak. Starts with pretty good fullness and effervescence with toasted dark caramel and toffee notes with some coconut and dark chocolate vanilla before a slightly drier bittersweet dark chocolate finish. Pretty true to style, but could use some time to mellow out.
