Nice copper color out of a bottle. Soapy head with moderate lacing. Faint hoppy aroma. Mouthfeel is at once sticky and crisp. Flavor has some citrus notes, though leaning more towards lemon rind than lemon zest. Would like to try on tap.

On tap at Shamrocks. Served a copper color with a fair head and some lacing. Aroma of Pine and citrus with bit of malt and grain in the background. Taste of pine and bit of grapefruit with light malt sweetness and grain. Nice bitterness and a clean finish. Medium body, crisp with a nice feel. Enjoyable beer.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle via trade. Pours a hazed light amber color with a white head. Aromas of caramel malts and pine sap. Taste is bitter and semi dry. Flavors of wet cardboard, Tylenol, some assortment of spruce trees and or bushes. Perhaps an evergreen pinecone in there as well. Oxidized. I’m guessing this May have been better if it were a bit fresher, but probably not by much. This is a pine forward IPA with no tropical hop expression/low bitterness that the next generation of IPAs possess. It’s average at best. Finishes bitter, soapy with an old school mindset in the vein of two hearted.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy, copper-brown pour with a rocky, white head. The aroma has grapefruit along with pine and some mild herbal notes. It has a medium body with oily texture and lively carbonation. The taste is sweet on the tip of the tongue while still bitter in the back of the mouth. The finish remains bitter and dry.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours clear golden / orange with a white head. The aroma has some caramel, citrus, cream and pine. It has a medium / thin body that’s a bit husky and has lots of sharp carbonation. The flavor begins with lots of pine, grapefruit, dry crackers, resin and an overall harshness. The finish is very woody, earthy and has citrus zest. Pretty good.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Another pretty standard ipa. No lacing. No head. Nothing awesome about it, but it’s not bad. Tasted at whole foods.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Big head, amber color. Aroma gives a hint of the ample hops. Taste is biased towards the the hops but works well with the sweetness of the malts. Finish is somewhat piney. A very good IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle via STL in-person trade. Pours a semi-cloudy orange with an initially huge eggshell white head that settles into a rocky, uneven head that leaves spots and streaks of lace. Aroma of orange peel, grapefruit, wildflowers, faint perfume and both pale and sweet malts. Flavor of grapefruit, tea, big floral notes, perfume, grass, and pale malt. Bitterness lingers after the finish. Light-bodied, with a bitter mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Nice IPA here with some real hop complexity but not much in the way of malt balance.
