COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Special.
Heather Sheppard, the daughter of brewery owners Guy & Sue Sheppard, graduates from St Andrew’s University in June 2010 and we are producing a special beer in her honour.
Beer Wolf is a 4.5% abv dark beer; the name is a play on words marking the work that Heather has done to gain a degree in English. To find more about her Wolf, have a look at Facebook.
Beer Wolf will be available in pubs from the end of May 2010 through June 2010.
STOP PRESS. We are brewing it again for November 2010 - since Heather’s graduation has been deferred until then, so she gets a special beer twice!

Cask (gravity dispense) at Pigs Ear Beer Festival, day 3 on 2 December 2010. Beer Wolf / Beowulf - geddit? Tawny/copper colour. No head. No condition. Sweetish. Caramel dominates the palate. Not really my scene.

Pigs Ear. Clear brown beer. No head. Dry woody palate. Watery malt. Dry minerals. A trace of fruit. A bit of a mess - just doesn’t hang together.

Half pint served from cask at a fine drinking temperature. Bright, dark brown body, tiny head. Malt-fruity aroma. Caramel malts and resinous hops in flavour promoting a well balanced bitter ending. Well built bitter (Bow Bar, Edinburgh, 27.11.2010).
