Avocet is Devon’s original organic real ale. Since its creation in 2008, this ale has been a favourite from the start. With it’s pale blonde colour this is a modern-style distinctly flavoured beer. Made with three organic hop varieties, it has a refreshing citrus taste and an attractive aroma.
A distinctively-flavoured beer with refreshing citrus taste and attractive aroma. Light gold in colour and wonderfully refreshing.

Clear golden body, no head. Aroma of pils malt, bred, light honey notes and light spicy hoppy notes. Flavours of smoke malt, bread and hoppy spicy notes. Light bitter medium dry finish, long smoky aftertaste. I found the smoke overwhelming and it makes the whole beer unbalanced.

Cask gravity at The Bell Ivychurch. Clear pale gold lasting white head. Disappointing golden ale. Decent condition. Touch of rubber. Hmm not great. Shame as condition is spanking. Didn’t finish a half.

Sampled from a bottle from the brewery (thanks, Rachel!). Pale straw colour with a good white head. Aromas of doughy, bread-like malts and citrusy hops. Taste is light, with bready malts and a slight citrus tang. No sourness but a distinct smokiness, which is slightly unexpected in this style, but is actually very pleasant. A good, but very light, golden ale.

Cask at the Guildford. Pours pale gold with a thin white head. Aromas of grains, light lemon. Taste is more of the same. Finishes thin, a bit dull to be honest.

Gravity cask at the Wandsworth Common Halloween Beer Festival - Le Gothique, London. Pours clear, bright gold with a frothy, white head. Nose of pale, lightly doughy malts with hints of lemon, too. Light to medium sweet flavor with basic white bread pale malts and supporting citrus zip. Light bodied with fine carbonation; in great condition. Sweet finish with mellow straw bitterness, some faint lemon rind. An excellent low ABV session beer.

Cask by handpump at Four Marys, Linlithgow - clear straw coloured, thin off-white head, weak cereal aroma, poor sporadic lacing, sweet, oaty, grainy texture, mild bittersweet traditional hop finish
