2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Shared 32 oz. crowler poured to snifters, displaying a hazed, copper color, with a fair layer of off white head foam, and spots of lacing. The nose was ripe fruit, grain, and a hint of diacetyl. Light to medium bodied, with soft carbonation, the taste offered some earthy & resinous bitterness, with a hint of balsamic vinegar as a chaser,.. literally! Didn’t really work for me, but thanks for the effort, Mark.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tap - good size thick head, dark amber color, nice big hop aroma and flavor with a pretty good malt backbone - very good beer! BTW, no smokey malts in this one, like the review below - I think he had the TBFIE IPA, not this Imperial IPA/Time Traveler

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled at Four Hands Lupulin Carnival 2012 - Pours hazy amber with an off-white soapy head. The aroma has lots of funk and tropical from Simcoe, light grapefruit and fairly sweet caramel malt balancing. Medium / thick smooth body with soft carbonation. The flavor starts like the aroma and then a smoke presence that is WAY out of place shows up. The finish adds spice, pine and smoke. Ugh - why the heck is there smokiness here?
