COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Special - JD Wetherspoon festival October 2009.
Deep chestnut in colour, with a sweet aroma, this has a bittersweet, citrus flavour and smooth hoppy aftertaste.

fairwater (50) - Reading, Berkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2012
Cast @ Great Expectations : clear light brown. Low hop & malt aroma. Sweetness biscuity malt, low bitterness. Not much in the way of hop flavour but ok balance. Better than expected!

McNeillR (76) - SCOTLAND - MAR 20, 2012
Generic honey amber body beneath a listless head. Sweet Fruitpastille initial notes. Biting hop biscuit but little else thereafter, some diluted lemon/lime vibe in there but nothing approaching the tease from the aroma. Not much exuberance from a celebratory ale. (Cask, ATP curated by Jeff Mangum, during Boredoms)

SilkTork (4737) - Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom, WALES - JAN 7, 2010
JDW, Rochester. Autumn 09 Spoons Fest. A fruity, clean and dry session bitter. Orange juice and some wetness. OK, but this came after two more assertive beers, so perhaps suffered in comparison.

MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 22, 2009
A Sim rate (cask at Marquis of Cornwallis): Smells of old men and soggy wood. It smells of the Wenlock, pretty much. Tastes of sheer diacetyl..yuuuuuum. Bitter citric woodiness. So not impressed.

berkshirejohn (3020) - Bracknell, Berkshire, ENGLAND - NOV 20, 2009
Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Copper coloured with a dense white head; nutty malty aroma; sweet malt flavour, but rather thin; dry and nutty finish. An unexceptional bitter.

RichardW (929) - Carlisle, Cumbria, ENGLAND - NOV 17, 2009
Cask, JDW, Carlisle. Rich, fruity beer, that came across stronger then the 4% abv. Plenty of body and flavour, with quite a strong aftertaste, that lingered fairly well.

harrisoni (10070) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 16, 2009
Cask conditioned handpull at Postal Order, JDW, Worcester. Chestnut colour lasting beige head. It’s alright, bit of biscuit on a normal bitter. Bit of yeast character on aroma. Not much hop on finish. Some toffee, some biscuit.
