Bottled, pasteurised;
Exmoor Beast is a dark beer which is brewed with liberal use of chocolate and crystal malts. The beer has the characteristics of a strong Porter, whilst retaining the typical Exmoor taste - a superb blend of malt and hops with a complex long aftertaste.
Ingredients: Pale malt, crystal malt, chocolate malt. Challenger, Fuggles and Goldings whole hops. OG 1066. 40 IBU. 100 EBC colour units.

Bottle from Beers of Europe. This doesn’t look like a porter, it’s an ordinary English strong ale. Aroma is sour fruits, toasted malts, chocolate. Flavour is toasted malts, fruits, bit of glue. Slightly sour finish. Not too well.

30th March 2008 Dark ale - hides the alcohol well. Smooth and a good balance of malt and hops but not overly in your face.

Bottle @ Beer Exposed, September 2008.
Pours a nice brown with a small, creamy, off-white, film head. Good lacing. Aroma is sweet, has nuts and is softly roasted. High carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit metallic, light dry with a touch of chocolate and roasted malts.

Svesse (6782) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - SEP 2, 2008
(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, prunes and chocolate. Malty, fruity taste with chocolate, dark fruit, prunes, cherries and a chocolatey finish with a slightly spicy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel with alcohol very well hidden. Very balanced, but lacking some of the character of the cask conditioned version. Still a nice beer.

Red, almost black beer. Whitish head. A nose of chocolate, caramel and hops. Flavour is somewhat fruity. Leaves a lingering bitter aftertaste.
