2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle @ Beer Exposed, September 2008.
Pours a nice brown with a small, creamy, off-white, film head. Good lacing. Aroma is sweet, has nuts and is softly roasted. High carbonation, okay mouthfeel. Flavour is a bit metallic, light dry with a touch of chocolate and roasted malts.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, raisins, prunes and chocolate. Malty, fruity taste with chocolate, dark fruit, prunes, cherries and a chocolatey finish with a slightly spicy bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel with alcohol very well hidden. Very balanced, but lacking some of the character of the cask conditioned version. Still a nice beer.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a tight, tan head. Aroma of strong, sweet malt, with a touch of fruit and roastiness. The flavour started sweet with some chocolate before bitter, savoury edges took over ahead of a bitter finish. Very good.

4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled 50cl. It pours a beautiful dark ruby, almost black beer with a creamy tanned head. A rather heterogenous appearance when poured: Some parts of the head are almost beige (around the glass), other areas are whitish. An impressive nose of chocolate, seaweed, caramel and hops of an excellent blend. The taste is of the same but with hints of wild strawberries. Wonderful full flavours and extremely well balanced. Licorice with a hint of wild strawberries again in the finish. This beer leaves a beautiful lacing. What a beauty! An excellent brewery too..

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled, 500ml, aged 4yrs. Dark brown with thin tan head. I think the ageing has done this no favours. The beer is a little sluggish with little life. There is still a vinous character with a slightly sour taste of plums and roasted malt. Thick but short finish, drink this fresh.
