COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottled, pasteurised;
Exmoor Beast is a dark beer which is brewed with liberal use of chocolate and crystal malts. The beer has the characteristics of a strong Porter, whilst retaining the typical Exmoor taste - a superb blend of malt and hops with a complex long aftertaste.
Ingredients: Pale malt, crystal malt, chocolate malt. Challenger, Fuggles and Goldings whole hops. OG 1066. 40 IBU. 100 EBC colour units.

Gorgeous stuff. Quite a strong ale with a very smooth finish. Hints of toffee and hops on the smell front. Taste is rich and smooth hops with a slight metallic twang which disappears after the second gulp. Not too gassy. Goes great with a bit of Emmental cheese. Top ale! One of my faves.

[500ml bottle, The Bottle, York] Dark, chestnut brown pour from a clear glass bottle. Fruity chocolate aromas, with some sherry or rum notes. Raisins and chocolate on the palate with a touch of caramel sweetness. On the finish reminiscent of fruit cake, with that slight rum/sherry note as well [29052009]

(pasterurised bottle). A clear bottle=fucking skunkiness, with subtle Fuggle hops..plastic ..roast coffee,earthiness. A cloying Porter. On the sweet side ...some rich roast coffee.red wine covered in chocolate. THE clear glass bottle basically takes a shit on a plesant porter.
