Cask at Sheep Heid Inn, Edinburgh, Scotland. Hazy brown colour, creamy beige head. Aroma of light roasted malts, nuts, bit of coffee. Flavour is also nuts, toasted malts, light coffee, watery bitter finish. A bit faint and tasteless overall. Ligth bodied.

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Dark muddy amber with very slight beige head. Sweet maltiness prevails over everything else in this beer, some fruitiness pehaps and a light fungal quality. Pretty average.

Cask Conditioned handpump Saracens Head Daventry. A dark, and slightly murky mahogany colourerd beer with an off-white head and lacing. A lightly roasty aroma with sweet malts throughout. A pleasant fruity mild which is easy enough to drink.

Cask at Pilgrims Progress (JDW), Bedford, after the end of ’Spoons Beer Festival ’10. Dark brown with a thick off white head (I suspect a sparkler, but didn’t notice). Sweet muesli and milk chocolate aroma. Sweet mild taste. A little fruitiness. Rather a dull papery finish, but I quite liked it.

From cask at Standing Order. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark roasted malt. Breadish and slight liqourice. Dark roasted malty and breadish dry malty. Mild acidic. Bitter and roasted.

JDW Autumn Fest 2010 - Rochester. A fruitcake beer with some soft ginger spice and soft brown sugar. A very enjoyable brew, leading to a slightly dry, twiggy finish which doesn’t sit well with the warmer, sweeter notes of the main show.

Cask @ Crystal Palace, JDW. Amber colour, beige head. Aroma has hint of roasted malts, fruits. Flavour is slightly roasted malts, spicy, fruity. Fairly bitter, slightly dry finish. Clean, well drinkable.

4th November 2010 Spoons Fest! Clear brown beer with a some semblance of a white head. Semi dry palate, low carbornation. Mild dark malt and some minerally apologetic hop (orange). Trace of banana. Inoffensive, drinkable, utterly unremarkable.

Cask handpull Muggletons JDW Maidstone. Clear dark chestnut colour with a thin dark beige head. Its a decent dark ale with some good dark fruit that is juicy on the swallow. Yes an alright dark beer.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 10/11/10. Deep brown with a tight, off-white head. Aroma of chocolate powder, berry fruit and cereal malts. Bready malt flavours with some more chocolate and a lingering bitter finish. Good.
