Last beer of the day during a CAMRA pub crawl of Shifnal, Shropshire on 14th Dec 13. Hand-pulled pint in The Anvil, where the buffet was arranged for.
I bet you can’t guess the body colour! OK, it might be golden and have a white crown on top.
Semi-sweet malty molasses in the nose and taste with mild hop hints below the surface.
This is a good session Ale and one I’ve had many times (surprised to find I’d never written about it before. I like the sweeter Uk Bitters and this sits nicely in that style and taste. Not blessed with powerful flavours or a rich body it’s just a well made and stylish beer.
