Cask @ Weatherspoons in Penzance. Glassy gold with tight head. Slight pedio in the aroma. Mushrooms and earth as well. Tastes quite nice with nutty grain balancing a floral hop. Decent stuff.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUL 6, 2011 (cask ) all the loclas where salivating over this - i left this till I’d sampled the Christmas ales from the taps next to it. A beer that intertwines a sweet malt caramel quality , with grassy , spicy fruity hops . I can see why this would be popular. Has certain textures found in generic lager - while ovbiously being of better quality. But one of those golden ales with lagery tendancies.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask, full pint, cellar cold at The Flying Horse, Gatwick. Slightly unclear golden-amber body. Tiny, white head reduced to a patchy surface. Malt-fruity smell. Some apricot mixed with grain in flavour. Too few hints of hop bitterness to the ending. Alright, but not in prime shape at the pub. In fact, rather vapid in the mouth (waiting for hours at the airport for a new plane, 08.08.2009).

Cask at the Winged Horse, Gatwick Airport.
A bit sweet, peaches, flowers, not much in the way of hoppy dryness. More hops would lift many of those golden ales a lot.
