2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 tombyars (1204) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 12, 2011
First tasted this in Gabriels, Paisley in April 1999. Cask, handpump dispense. Clear pale amber in colour with a thin white creamy head. Dusty hop flowers in the long nose and thin but resiny mouthfeel. Pale malt base gives a digestive biscuit base with creamy fudge notes. Slight prickle of herbal hops in the short slightly bitter resiny aftertaste. Finish is sweet and malty with hedgerow fruit notes. A decent session bitter.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Fin (6178) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2009
Cask at the Cask and Barrel, Edinburgh, 20-03-09 on the Craig Crawl Pours amber with a white head. Strangely vomit like aroma which rather fortunately didn’t show itself in the mouth although to be fair this wasn’t all that there was on the nose and it was faint. Fairly average beer, touch sweet lacking in hops and really not that bitter. A6 A3 F6 P3 OV12 2.8

Cask at The Briar Rose, Birmingham. Dark gold with a dense head. Slow to clear. Hint of berries in the scent with some yeast. Watery mouthfeel. Some hops and malts in the mouth, but not much there at all. Very bland and has a watery end.

Cask, White Horse, Oxford. Medium amber, fine white foam, a nice thick coating on the glass. Soft plum aroma, touch of orange and smoke. Very light over all. Sweet caramel malt, a pause, then a long toasty malt finish. This is sort of one groove beer, but it’s not a bad groove.
