3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 McNeillR (76) - SCOTLAND - MAR 20, 2012
Fairly stale syrup kick in decent clean, generically bitter nose. Decent depth to amber body with the most impressive head of the lot. Nice sticky wafer palate, fading to a clean and inoffensive lift. Developed nicely during the remainder without needing to be rushed. The best of a generic bunch. (Cask, ATP Jeff Mangum, during Low)
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tombyars (1102) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - DEC 12, 2011
First tasted this in the Last Post, Paisley (JDW) in August 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear pale copper in colour with a thick creamy off white head. Slight sulphurous note in the hard boiled egg aroma. Thin, resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malts give a weak digestive biscuit base with thin caramel and dry redcurrant fruit providing a tart woodyness. Slight resiny hops give a dry short bitter note to the aftertaste. Bitter sweet notes in the rounded finish with pink grapefruit coming through. An ok session bitter.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 FatPhil (6210) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 21, 2011
Cask (Shakespeare JDW, London)
Simple. honey aroma. Malty body, but boring. Gazza would hate this, it’s the opposite of what he likes in an English beer. I thought it was pretty OK, smooth and drinkable, but certainly no balls or bite.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 mjs (3000) - Helsinki, FINLAND - AUG 27, 2011
(Cask at Black Door, Helsinki, 20110827) The beer poured amber and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had toffee and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were toffee, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. This beer was too one dimensional but it was also clean and balanced.

Another beer tainted by Wetherspoons bad keeping. Rated a 9 but I felt as if it was off. Why rate it then? Because it didn’t seem a bad beer, vinegar touch aside it was ok. Average at best.
